Simplicity is a major factor, but also something that looks respectable and you could see representing the country at an important function. Yes, I took this rather seriously. It also includes 6 'spokes', one for each region of the former state of FYR Vojvodina-on-the-Wold, which were persuaded through the use of lethal and non-lethal force to submit to the one true ruler, Chancellor Baranski.
