I fully expect at some point in the future a highly anticipated album will come out and make up the entire Top 10 because sales will have declined to such an extent by that point, that just by virtue of people listening to the entire album in order, that will generate ' a Top 10' . Who knows it may happen with Adele next week?!

I'm actually hoping the rumours of Adele initially holding her entire album from Spotify is correct for that very reason.

I feel sorry for Kylie. Last week, she would have easily made top 10 albums with her sales so far this week. It's a shame cos its a great sounding album. Hopefully it will repeak but I doubt it unless she has more success with a future single.

Though it may have sold less last week by virtue of being further away from Xmas than this week is.

Very unlikely , although we still don't know if '25' will be instantly going to Spotify. I imagine if it does the whole album will go top 75 but only a few tracks if it's not on Spotify. (and if I had to guess I'd say she probably won't put in there in order to maximise sales)

Hits Daily Double is reporting Adele herself wants her album on Spotify because she doesn't want TSwift-like controversies. Idk what the final decision will be though.

Never happened.

The Beatles and Madonna have been at 1 and 2 at the same time though, which is arguably more impressive.

John Lennon was at 1, 3 & 5 for a week shortly after his death:

Kylie  That girl just can't get any luck these days.

I don't think a Top 15 album is all that bad.

And of course, that was back in the day when we had to get a bus into town to buy a physical copy of the single! :)

Throwing it out there... These Justin songs all sound pretty similar - i.e. mediocre. I've completely missed something, clearly.

It was the minimum of what I expected.

I expected Top 10 tbh but could yet climb nearer Xmas.

I don't think it'll manage top ten, but with promo near Christmas I think it'll have a few weeks top 20 and go gold, easily. Like Leona's.

Virtually everyone who isn't an adolescent teenage girl has, too. ;)

How patronising.

i agree all songs are similar and boring..

Some aliases in this thread? I don't know how you can say 'Sorry' is boring?!
^ easily. :P I listened to the whole album and I'd say I only really kinda liked 'What do you mean?' That said, its audience is for sure very wide now, because relying just on "adolescent teenage girls" you won't spend three weeks at #2 with very consistent sales and then climb to #1 on 4th week overtaking no more no less Adele's comeback single!
To say that Justin Bieber only appeals to teenage girls is laughable! That may have once been the case but his appeal is so much more widespread these days. I'm definitely #teamsorry this week!

If I'm honest I find the songs on Bieber's album are similar but it makes the album coherent.

You only have to read the music press to see that Bieber has evolved out of a teeny bopper artist to something more mainstream. I would say this is his time right now. If not this album then his next will be his career peak. Guarantee it.

1D clearly haven't been able to make the same leap as Bieber and are still a teenage girls band and have fallen from their peak (although they were bigger at their peak than Bieber is now.)

I have to say that I find Adele way over rated. She had some good songs, but generally her albums are boring. 'Hello' is a perfect example - just boring as hell. The only way I can listen to that is if it's the Kiss FM remix. Much better.

I agree, although every artist may appeal more to a certain group I am in my early forties and have downloaded a couple of his songs.

I agree. Doubt Kylie will get top 10 now in its chart run but if it can keep top 40 for 6 weeks of Xmas then it should sell ok.

She has lots of promo coming up in December and hopefully give a few pricing strategies etc + release of the vinyl album in 27th November could grab a few extra sales.
