November 23, 201510 yr Damn Ellie dropping like a stone  hopefully she stabilises soon or even an halcyon days still resurgence
November 23, 201510 yr Author Damn Ellie dropping like a stone  hopefully she stabilises soon or even an halcyon days still resurgence Yeah, I'm actually shocked at how this is going for Ellie... 3-13-21 is not what I expected, especially given her star power these days, and the amount of marketing and promo that has gone into this campaign. But it's too be remembered that her first album went 1-16-17-23 and her second went 2-7-19-37 and despite their underwhelming initial chart runs they both went on to sell loads, and both eventually returned to the top 5. November 23, 201510 yr Is the Charlie Puth single already released? Yeh it jumped from 77-54 on the sales chart, doing nothing on streams tho so not top 100 officially. As high as 40 on iTunes last week.

Yeh her albums seem to respond to popular single AirPlay!
November 23, 201510 yr I can see Ellie selling now the same she sells in February and she'll be top 5 then again
November 23, 201510 yr Adele's '25' Sells 2.3 Million in First Three Days in U.S. Industry forecasters suggest the album could finish the week with 2.9 million sold.
November 23, 201510 yr It would be wonderful if Take That and Olly Murs can stay top 10 for me. I am happy with the result of Take That at number 6. If Olly Murs missed this week i would strongly believe he will climb next week. I would not be so confident with Take That. Edited November 23, 201510 yr by pippa
November 23, 201510 yr A critics opinion shouldn't really have any affect on whether you personally like the album. They are not the controllers of our mind. But for what it's worth, her metacritic score is 76, and she has been given some pretty damn good reviews. Quite a few over the 90 mark. Exactly this. 21 and 25 actually have the same average score on metacritic. 21 ranges from 40/100 to 100/100 25 ranges from 50/100 to 100/100 All this serves to show is that all music is subjective. To some one artist is dull and boring, to others the same artist is exciting and memorising. Horses for courses. However if music forums like buzzjack didn't have people making objective statements about subjective matter, the posts would drop by about 80%, so carry on :D
November 23, 201510 yr All commercially popular albums are panned by the critics who are usually snobs when it comes to the art.
November 23, 201510 yr The good thing with the Adele singles not being on Spotify is that it means we can get a pretty good idea of the download market/iTunes - e.g. “When We Were Young” being #6 on iTunes most of yesterday only sold ~2.9K and was around 35% of the #1, which suggests the #1 is selling approx. 8.3K/day. So.. http://digitalsalesdata.com/diydsd.php?Region=143444 is actually reasonably accurate for a change !
November 23, 201510 yr So it'll sell 40k for the week or so? “When We Were Young” will probably sell around 20-22K for the week.
November 23, 201510 yr Someone to sell half an million copies in three days in this current climate is just fantastic ! Shes already beat her first week record (21) three times over and we haven't even finished the week ! Regardless if people like her or not , she's selling bucket loads and making history at the same time ! Will be interesting to see what record sales will be like next week! To think she will get to a million , either this week or next week is just speechless!
November 23, 201510 yr sublime sales for adele :w00t-old: ~ even more incredible when you consider the parlous state of the album market in 2015, which is routinely below 1.5 million, with most weeks struggling to produce 5+ >10k sellers~ hopefully that awfully turgid nathan sykes tripe slips out of the top10 by friday :puke: plz let 99 souls sneak into the top40 ~ this needs to be a sizable hit~
November 24, 201510 yr Really want Take That to get top 10 this week, but its looking like touch and go
November 24, 201510 yr I went to Asda tonight and the shelf labelled 25 was empty, is that commonplace? It could really dent sales.
November 24, 201510 yr But by that same token, just because you're not a fan of it doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't deserve to be doing well. I didn't say it doesn't deserve to do well just because I'm not a fan of it. If you read my posts properly, I mentioned about hype and also even some of the critics have said its not that good. Clearly, my opinion on its own is not worth much relevance but I know I'm not the only person who thinks she doesn't deserve to sell the amount she has.

Hopefully situations like this mean physical sales later on in the week are still relatively high since people are missing out early on the week they are picking it up later on.
