Little Mix back up to 6 on albums! One Direction only sold 600 copies more than them yesterday.

Nice to see Little Mix are going to have one of those mainstay albums in the top 10 over xmas it is looking like. They really deserve it because even if you don't like the material, you cant deny they have worked hard promo wise and they put on good performances.

Yeah I agree, the 2 singles have really done wonders for this era even though the album itself is by a long shot their worst. Just wish LMLY wasn't robbed of its deserved top 10 peak

I'm surprised that JB is on course to sell twice as many albums as 1D this week - I thought they would both have been roughly as front-loaded as each other.

Justin stayed really stable all week though, he wasn't really front-loaded at all, and seems to have mass causal appeal now, I thought it was pretty obvious he'd be well ahead of 1D this week.

Adele and Bieber are both riding on the crest of a wave....

Bieber in particular is riding on the crest of the air waves almost 12,000 plays in a month explains why he is doing so well.

It's awful when artists put out a couple of good singles and then most of the other tracks are fillers. This album may sell well over Xmas but it could put potential buyers off future albums.

I think people are being harsh on Little Mix's album from what I have read online. It is a fun, pop, throwaway album but really that is what they should be making.

Plus I think Secret love song could be a We belong together type hit if they play their cards right.

I wouldn't say this is true of the Little Mix album personally. Weird People, Hair, Lightning, OMG, Secret Love Song (parts 1 and 2), Grown, I Won't and A.D.I.D.A.S are as good as anything they've put out on previous albums personally.

I do think there are a fair few duds, and the 3 singles are by far the best songs. But I get enough from OMG, Weird People, A.D.I.D.A.S and Hair for the album to be more than a worthwhile purchase for me. I don't think casual buyers will be put off.

FYI COME TO THE LITTLE MIX FORUM

That comment doesn't even make any sense. If the album sells well over Xmas it's because people are liking the songs and therefore buying it. It won't have any bearing on how future albums by them perform.

As has been said, it's a good, fun, pop album and whilst I don't like every song on the album, it definitely has some great little pop songs on it (OMG in particular), and I can see why it's doing well.

Nathan is already being outsold by the rest of the top 10, but it looks like he'll hold on. Probably around 8/9 as I predicted earlier in the week.
There may be a question of availability - some shops will have run out, given the unprecedented demand?

I bought myself a copy of her album in HMV today and they still had box fulls of Adele CDs (not trying to say they overstocked or dismiss how well the album is selling!). Wouldn't surprised if it had over 1m shipments.

Also, literally everyone in the store had a copy in their hand.

Plus BHN stopped well short of 2 million. I can't see 25 doing that.

I can see it doing 4 million again like 21! At least 3 million anyway.

Hope Justin doesn't overtake Elvis.

I'd say it was quite likely now, especially with Justin missing streams.

Elvis needs to leak some nudes or something :P
