Christmas songs must be seeing big streaming numbers already, with Mariah and The Pogues both in the top 20. Looks like top 10 is almost a certainty for Mariah this year, hopefully The Pogues can do it as well.

10-41 is disheartening for The Vamps but honestly I expected a bigger drop all things considered (mainly due to it being Q4) so I guess I'll take this. Deserves way more though, it's an amazing album.

Speaking of amazing albums, Troye only at #30 seems ridiculous for an album so good :( not that quality is always reflected in the chart of course but it should be so much higher :drama:

On the plus side: Stitches #45 :o surely coming for top 40 this week at long last :cheer:

If Adele isn't performing on X Factor final, Coldplay could just about beat her

Really? She's been outselling them by 2:1 by their 2nd day on release.

Speaking of amazing things, no little fluffy dickie birds today. :nocheer:

Looking forward to next week's chart more than anything, hoping Louisa Johnson wins.

Seeing Justin Bieber occupying the #1 for the past 3 months with 3 different tracks, its getting a bit stale for me.

The chart cuts off on Thursday... XF final is Saturday/Sunday.

Off the top of their head, does anyone know when the last time a number 2 album sold 200k+ was?

Probably Christmas 2011 when Amy Winehouse was second to Michael Buble.

Lovely to see Kylie rebounding and hopefully this continues to climb and break the top 10 fingers crossed. There's no point comparing it to Michael Buble. He is the Adele of Christmas albums and I don't think any Christmas album by any artist has ever done that well before or after him (not even Mariah) in the UK (USA maybe a different story). If it was't for him selling so well, then the Christmas albums by Leona, Kelly Steps and Kylie possibly wouldn't have been thought of happening. The only artist that could sell in his numbers and more of a Christmas album is Adele!

Great to see Adele will hold onto the #1 album too but fantastic that both her and Coldplay will have really high numbers! Christmas sales are saved!

wow at Adele eating a 56K gap in two days and being only 1.5K behind

poor Troye should have waited til January, bad idea releasing now

Little Mix still doing amazingly, week 5 and they´re even above Fleur

Well in 3 days Coldplay's lead has gone from 56k, to 35k, to 1.5k, so at this stage on Monday, 25 is probably well in the lead again.

so how much did Coldplay and Adele yesterday?

Off the top of their head, does anyone know when the last time a number 2 album sold 200k+ was?

30/12/2000- Coast To Coast- Westlife 305k :D

That's a pretty underwhelming 'hold' for Coldplay in comparison to the gap in between them and Adele on yesterday's update. Either Adele sold more than expected yesterday, or they dropped off considerably.

Michael Buble and Kylie Minogue cater to totally different audiences; tell me again why they're being compared?

Christmas albums. Someone mentioned how she's not doing Michael Buble Christmas numbers - but no one does Michael Buble Christmas numbers apart from him

In America does Josh Groban's Christmas album not have more sales than Buble? Not relevent to the UL I realise but still.

TBH, Josh >>>> Michael.

Enya still in the top 10, hope she can stay there for a third week

Yep sure was:

1 Michael Buble 317,114

2 Amy Winehosue 216,868

Kylie needs her promo to work tomorrow night on Royal Variety to boost her sales on Weds & Thurs or it may fall from top 20. I was hoping for a One Show appearance this week as a little boost too but doesn't look like it.

Didn't Progress and Loud have massive sales in 2010?

Didn't Progress and Loud have massive sales in 2010?

Sorry I answered a question that wasn't asked :D

That's the record weekly sale for an album which wasn't No 1.

Corrs still top 20 :cheer: the album that beat it to the top ten by 200 sales casually slumping out of the top 40 :drama:
