Having not heard it, I'll say that I think sticking to too rigid a theme with holiday songs isn't great for getting good songs. Are you going to deduct my song for being blatantly more about Narnia than Santa, even though it mentions Christmas in the lyrics? Just like the Halloween contest ended up being a contest about the dark, the night and anything slightly horror related, I'm going to view this as a contest about winter, snow, aspects of traditional celebrations and anything related to that, lest listening to it all becomes a hell of supermarket jingles.

 

The song is honestly none of that though. It has nothing to do qith winter or Christmas in even the widest scape.

Look. As the veto panel, myself, Jade and Sam decided it was fine. It mentions December in it, which is the month Christmas occurs in. Hear The Bells could be another meaning like oh hear the bells of Christmas.

 

At the end of the day this is a spin off for fun over the winter period. Snarky comments and continuing a one sided argument is just childish. Accept it and move on, you don't need to point the song if you disagree that much.

I don't understand how you can insult a song though to be honest. Like has been said it's a bit of fun. The song references December and has the lyrics hear the bells which does sound like a Christmas reference. Also I think his song fits the winter season so I Really don't get what your issue is. Grow up and move on!

As I said, a different version of the song is also on her Christmas EP which is named after the song. I know that may not even mean much but at the time of confirming it I thought it mattered. I didn't just enter it because it has the word "December" in the lyrics, nor do I think every song with that word in it is fine for this. It also sounds Christmassy to me, or at least wintery. The combination of everything made it seem to me to be suitable for the contest and it was allowed, as you can see.

 

Excuse me for not being able to find the real meaning in everything.
