December 20, 20159 yr Really looking forward to this Haus  Hoping for Madonna, Carly and a maybe a little of Taylor slayage here
December 20, 20159 yr Author Love is pain and pain is art, show me your graffiti heart Tv9YoYCKNoE 96. Madonna – Graffiti Heart 97. Kanye West ft. Paul McCartney - Only One 98. Grimes - Flesh Without Blood 99. Jordin Sparks ft. 2 Chainz - Double Tap 100. Ben Haenow ft. Kelly Clarkson - Second Hand Heart *slight disclaimer* I compiled this list very quickly and then spent a while sorting the top 100 out, so I have more than likely missed out essential songs :( if this is the case I will just try to rectify as we go along and give them honourable mentions Lol. But hopefully we don't come to that~ Let's go~ I'll be presenting songs and albums interspersed so hope it isn't too difficult to keep up with :heehee: A small shoutout to V V's 'Lazarus' which just missed out (in my first cull I was left with 101 songs oops), but she has another song to come, so worry not. Last year's X Factor winner Ben Haenow is up first with his delightful first proper single. I was not a fan of him in the slightest on the show, and still his live vocals really grate on me, but in studio form his sounds are pretty likeable so no grudges held. Controversial one next oops but this offering from Jordin Sparks is a JAM and I won't hear anything against it. Grimes who I've always been a very mild fan of, offers perhaps the best song of her career to date, the hugely explosive and enjoyable 'Flesh Without Blood' - a proper joyous affair filled to the brim with exuberance and excess. Kanye West didn't make a full-bodied return with a new album as was expected but the singles he did drop kept fans ticking over and with 'Only One' he offered one of his most poignant, heartfelt tracks to date. Yeezy has a heart after all it seems!!1. And finally, Madonna makes her first appearence (of how many? ;o) with a bonus track, but easily one of the album's many highlights. It's a song about pain, love, art, beauty - sums up the album wonderfully and my own experience of adoring her as a person and artist. My heart is tatooed and graffitied all over with her lyrics, her pain, her love, her presence.
December 20, 20159 yr Ben Whonow LMFFAOOOOOOOOOOO (it's a nice song though, if unspectacular) The first of many Madge songs I imagine *.* the less said about Kanye, the better ^_^
December 20, 20159 yr Author You got me feeling for your power yEG2VTHS9yg 91. A$AP Rocky - L$D 92. Stereo Kicks - Love Me So 93. Sigala - Sweet Lovin' 94. KDA ft. Tinie Tempah & Katy B - Turn The Music Louder 95. Fleur East – Breakfast Narrowly beating the winner of last year's X Factor is the runner-up with the first of two songs to chart in the top 100 here. Fleur East's 'Breakfast' is a mix between Rita Ora and Carly Rae Jepsen (two artist who have songs still to feature here) and so it's right up my street. The album makes use of this more stripped back, chilled, R&B vibe and this is clearly the standout example of that. KDA did the impossible and got Katy B a #1 single, for that alone it deserves a huge mention; the song should hopefully set up a big year for Katy B - she dominated the previous few so high hopes once more that she'll deliver. Sigala with their very current hit bounce up next, it's a very worthy follow up to that little-known debut of theirs which might just have done a tad better than this  Ready for side-glances now, but Stereo Kicks' debut (and only ever) song is a perfect boyband ballad and i'm a sucker for it. I am also a sucker for 80% of the band in departments away from the music (o )(o ). And things take a dark turn next with one of the most intense, rich hip-hop songs of the year. A$AP Rocky's trippy, drug-fuelled 'L$D' is as close to getting a high without touching the substances you can get. It sends you to massive highs and low comedowns all in the space of a few minutes - a much needed experience, even if you hate the song it's well worth a listen and the video worth a watch!
December 20, 20159 yr Breakfast is fantastic  Love Me So never really hit me and I'm meant to be the boyband stan lol. It's nice though ~
December 20, 20159 yr Grimes should be MUCH higher but I'll forgive if you're not rly a fan~ KDA is my other fave so far, Katy B on top as she deserves to be
December 20, 20159 yr Author Ben Whonow LMFFAOOOOOOOOOOO (it's a nice song though, if unspectacular) And yet no sign of Louisa Johnson here ^_^ Predicting Carly Rae to feature for the bulk of the other end of this! You'll have to keep tuning back to find out :o Grimes should be MUCH higher but I'll forgive if you're not rly a fan~ KDA is my other fave so far, Katy B on top as she deserves to be I am not really a big fan no. I have listened to the albums and enjoy them but I don't really return to her songs (I guess they're not *catchy* enough for me), until this of course! Thanks for the comments so far guys <3 -x- Gah so I initially thought I wouldn't even have enough albums here, but when compiling the list it turned out that there were a fair few that missed out. So brief shoutouts to (in reverse order) ~ Indiana, Lana Del Rey, Until The Ribbon Breaks, Mikky Ekko, Skrillex and Diplo, Dr. Dre and Ben Khan who miss out :nocheer:
December 20, 20159 yr Slaynow appearing http://38.media.tumblr.com/0e0a94fe1ec558ee18b89106f685032f/tumblr_n2elx2QV7G1qh1j56o1_500.gif
December 20, 20159 yr Author Everyday I spend my time, drinking wine EeBYIElpEPo 29. Bebe Rexha - I Don’t Wanna Grow Up I Can't Stop Drinking About You / I Don't Wanna Grow Up / Pray 30. A$AP Rocky - AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP L$D / Everyday / Fine Whine So with commiserations out of the way we start with a regular featurette in these countdowns, A$AP Rocky. AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP (just go with the styling) wasn't really as hugely anticipated as the title makes out - music from him always is, but this came with a more muted surfacing with it being gradually discovered and revealed in subsequent videos being released. The album continues the flash, bold sounds that make his sound so signature, but it still feels like a progression from the (incredible) 'LONG.LIVE.A$AP' musically. It has retro moments, current sounds and almost futuristic, neo-sounds all thrown in together making the entire experience of the album exhausting to listen through. It's certainly not my favourite album from him, but for its sheer relentless grit and power, I can't help but appreciate it. Bebe Rexha has her name to a few solid hits, but the first proper collection i've heard from her confirms that she could be something special. The short, but sharp EP is full of wonderful sounds and soaring vocals. The EP seems to be full of regrets, the regret of aging being the central one as the title suggests but also regrets of intense love and moments of insanity. I can't wait for a full album from her, she has a wonderful way with her lyrics and her delivery of them makes her one of the more distinct females to emerge in recent times. 'I Can't Stop Drinking About You' remains an absolute GEM too, I wish i'd have paid more attention to it last year because it didn't even feature in my top 100 back then :(
December 20, 20159 yr Hi Haus! Big fan of Double Tap myself, one of my favourites of hers. Sweet Lovin' is amazing, really hope he keeps putting out tracks like that next year.
December 21, 20159 yr 'L$D' is my fave so far, beautiful song and the video complements it perfectly! So colorful <3
December 21, 20159 yr Author I told you that I would never be forgotten ffdoqZleQaI 86. Olly Murs - Kiss Me 87. Sia – Alive 88. Coldplay – Adventure of a Lifetime 89. Indiana - Heart on Fire 90. Miguel – leaves Back to the songles now~ Miguel makes his first appearance here, where off an overly sexually charged album, the most tender moment of the lot really stands out. 'leaves' is a beauty of a song and shows a different side to the hunk. Indiana's song took ages to hit me but when I did I fell in love with the complex layers of the song - is it pretentious, perhaps but it doesn't really matter because her ghostly, ethereal vocals are chilling throughout and the song as a whole is a well-accomplished piece of indie-pop. That chorus just ignites. Coldplay suffer from being a very recent addition to my chart, it'd probably be a few places higher but as i've only just "got" it, it settles for a fairly low position. Still, the album as a whole is a world away from 'Ghost Stories' and much better for it. Sia who dominated 2014, only makes it to #87 here with her big comeback single 'Alive' not totally wowing me, but it does what it says in the tin and is an invigorating listen every time. I was hoping for a new re-invention rather than a 'Chandelier'-lite effort, but I still have very high hopes for the album - but more on that next year I assume? And finally, XF's cheeky alumni, turned presenter Olly Murs releases his strongest single since 'Dear Darlin'' with an equally as cheeky video and a brilliant, retro-infused sound. It really works for him and I find him much more convincing in his slower, more subdued moments.
December 21, 20159 yr Hi Ball -_- Olly, Sia, Coldplay -_- , Sigala, Fleur, KDA :D , Grimes, Ben/Kelly are all fab fab fab, oh yeah http://www.newnownext.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/madonna-fall.gif ICONIC *.* looking forward to seeing much more Oldonna on here B-)
December 21, 20159 yr Oh this happened suddenly, Hi Bal I do like Alive but sometimes I just think shut up! My dad summed it up pretty well because he likes it but the first time he said 'who's this shouting girl on the radio'... It's a strong track but some of the high notes are just painful even though she sounds great on the majority of the track, I preferred the more held-back stuff like Elastic Heart/Big Girls Cry. A big fan of Kiss Me, cheeky is the word I'd use to describe it too, he has this real charm to him and I like it when he shows it off in his lyrics/videos and this was the perfect example of it, loved how smooth the whole track is too, worked for him because it felt like a bit of progression. AOAL is new but it'll be very high in my EOY still, it may just have the most catchy instrumental hook of all time. I'd be the first person to criticise the boringness of slow songs like Yellow and Fix You but this is a really fantastic song, was so worried it would miss the top 10 officially to begin with but it seems to be getting more attention now :D
