'Forbidden Love' is top album track, just missing out on a now pretty perfect Top 3. Notably the first song resembling a ballad on the album, the tone is immediately set with the melancholy synths and, as it is totally unlike anything we've heard from the album so far, it tells us that Madonna is serious and has something important to say. She juxtaposes romance with doom and makes a point of the past and what used to be with "once upon a time" and "was", but before you start preparing yourself for a depressing song, there's a sense of enlightenment with the glistening sound as the subdued first chorus kicks in. What the song means from this point is up to the listener's interpretation, but the Confessions Tour performance shows themes of sexuality and religion as two male dancers with religious symbols painted on their bodies perform a hand choreography that suggests them attempting to unite but not being quite able to. This may only be about middle in my ranking of the album (testimony to how great it is), but 'Forbidden Love' really does scream "single release" to me. It still has the ability to make you dance but, unlike the actual singles, can also allow you to reflect upon the song's message. And insert the obligatory comment of how this song merges into 'Jump' on the album in the most effective of transitions.

Round 09: Forbidden Love (04/08; 50.00%)

Round 08: Get Together (07/17; 41.18%)

Round 07: Isaac (07/15; 46.67%)

Round 06: Let It Will Be (06/15; 40.00%)

Round 05: Future Lovers (06/16; 37.50%)

Round 04: Like It or Not (09/15; 60.00%)

Round 03: How High (04/16; 25.00%, joint with 'Future Lovers', lost deadlock 08/13; 61.54%)

Round 02: I Love New York (04/16; 25.00%)

Round 01: Push (06/12; 50.00%)

I really liked "Forbidden Love" as do with most of this album, but can't deny that's an amazing top 3 left, gonna have to go with "Jump" though.
Jump to go, it's about on par with Sorry but the remixes of the latter are better and I prefer it live too.

I've really got into 'Jump' recently but those other two are just near unbeatable for me, so 'Jump' for me too.

What took you so long! :o It's a massive favourite of mine (my most played on last.fm) and it goes in long phases of being my overall #1 Madonna song. Unpopular opinion I know, but it's so good.

I've always loved it but, after revisiting the Confessions album, it's become a song I just want to listen to over and over. It exudes massive amounts of joy and the verses really build the anticipation for the absolute beast of a chorus! I mean, that's always been the case but it's been more prominent than ever recently.
