I agree with the comments that it all sounds a bit samey. They've gone really watered down and generic, which is surprising, and it's such a shame they've lost the classical strings in most of the songs which used to be their trademark.

Having said all that, I'm loving 24 Hours and the other highlights for me are Mama and Nowhere.

This truly is an underwhelming album, it's good to have new music from them but maybe they are better off being an artist that just released singles. Their singles until 'Baby' were nothing short of flawless and the rest of the album is nowhere near to the standards.

They performed a set live in Kyoto this morning (starts at 15:17)

Setlist:

"Symphony"

"Solo"

"I Miss You"

"Baby"

"Mama"

"Rockabye"

"Rather Be"

I'm really impressed with Yasmin taking on Luis's verses on "Baby", I think she did a really good job with it.

DEAD at that key change in Nowhere

The only thing I commend them for on this album is giving Yasmin Green and Kirsten Joy actual vocals on their own songs.

I can see Clean Goulding becoming a hit. They should just make it the next official single

By "Solo" I felt they had already gone down that route tbh

finally heard Mama, what a disappointing track and I lover both CB and Ellie

the lyrics were written by a 2 years old? Can't believe they just sing Mama Mama Hola Hola :/

This is a terrible album which manages to drag the singles down into a samey beige listen.

It's basically a generic Spotify summer 2017 playlist being sold as a record. They should just stick to singles and tweak their sound as music changes going forward.

I wanted to love this so much but it really is terrible. They need to remember they were formed from classical roots as that's the reason they stood out in the first place, most of the tracks on this album (singles aside) could literally be any faceless band. It's a long time since I can remember being so disappointed by an album.
This was on in work yesterday and having heard it I can't say I want to seek it out again for myself, what a dreadfully disappointing album :/ I wouldn't say it was completely abysmal because the first 5 singles are all 10s and then Baby is right up there too, plus Mama, Last Goodbye and Playboy Style are great, but that's it. The rest of the songs just have nothing to them and blend into one a lot as said. They can do SO much more and are capable of really standing out, but it feels like they felt that the singles were pretty much enough, didn't put a lot into any of the other songs and thought that Spotify playlist filler could pad out the album.
Not even the album release could bring Baby back to the Spotify Top 200.

Solo is up to 96 whilst Mama is in at 159.

Baby was up 17 to #80 yesterday :kink:

DEAD at that key change in Nowhere

Yeah, that was a bit of a WTF moment

Where do we think this will be in the first midweeks? I'm predicting #7
To be honest, they dragged on the album release for FAR TOO LONG and I just completely lost interest. Hopefully Disclosure won't make the same mistake.

Compared to New Eyes the album tracks are generally quite weak, but I really like Should've Known Better, Mama is good too, and the production on In Us I Believe is much less generic than the production on the rest of the album - touches of late 90s' techno on it even. Makes me wonder how much more diverse the album could have sounded if they hadn't stuck to the 'Spotify sound' for so much of it.

Overall though, considering the singles are largely SO good, there's plenty on the album to keep me happy. But I did expect more from it.

Listened to clips on iTunes. They definitely released the best songs as singles. Some of the album tracks are a bit dull. Can’t see them having many more hits from the album. I also don’t class them as a ‘dance” act - more alternative pop.

Am I the only one really enjoying Nowhere? I thought it needed a bit more of a kick in the production during the choruses but I’ve grown to like it’s simplicity plus the... flute? Probably not a flute but whatever that is sounds great. It’s a bit odd that Kyle has two dog son the album but for what it’s worth his album tracks are my two favourites

Playboy Style has grown off me weirdly and Mama is still crap I think

At first I was puzzled why they chose to stream live from Japan but when Grace mentioned their album has already gone to No.1 in Japan, I immediately understand. At this rate it's going, Japan will be their second biggest market after UK.
