Golden fell on each update through the week which is disappointing,started the week at number 23 and experienced a 13 place by the end of the week.

That said, remaining Top 40 is still great and likely to have added between 2-2500 sales.

47 sold 2.2k and 27 sold 3.1k so 36th place probably around 2.5k

 

only 2.7 k between 17th and 47th so its close as usual hence why she dropped

 

2 albums that went above her where the rapper that got killed.... you cant do anything about that sort of thing....

 

Lily Allen dropped from 8 to 46 in week 2 LOL

In large when we see performances of other established females such as Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera, Kylie is performing immensely well.

She is also outselling current female artists such as Cardi B and Camila Cabello.

the thing with Kylie is she is now able to do price discounts and incentives knowing she already has 100k sales in the bank. loads of those albums in the charts have been selling for £4.99 for weeks and months... Taylor, Dua, Pink etc...

 

Kylie will also grab UK promo with ease throughout the year.

 

Wonder if Dannii will sell much this week? Hopefully maybe 1000 copies?

Wonderful that Golden has outsold Kiss Me Once worldwide and not just the UK.

 

Well only 2-3 weeks away from gold status. Hopefully, the album will continue to sell throughout the summer and beyond. It’s done a lot better than Lily Allen and Christina Aquilera!

Seems like ‘Golden’ is in for the big drop this week, maybe even to 50+, if the fall throughout the last week is anything to go by. No matter what it has already done just fine and shown some longevity. Hopefully it remains in the 40 biggest albums sellers of the year.

I think the drop throughout the week can be attributed mainly to the lack of streaming the album gets. It's experienced similar drops the last few weeks but stayed around the #35 - #42 mark. This coupled with the two biggest physical-selling days (where Golden would sell most of its copies) falling at the start of the chart week makes sense that it is the streaming bringing her down.

Pleased it remained Top 40 but disappointed with the drop from the first midweek of 23 to 36 (But sales are close etc., etc.,).

 

Less than 5k away from being certified Gold though :w00t: Sales have also been consistent over the past 5 weeks so hopefully they will stay around that mark.

It achieved a 9.3% increase in sales this week to 2,567, so the week before at #38 is likely to be 2,349! (That's actually a 9.28% increase, but that's closer to 9.3% than 2,348 would be: 9.33%).

 

The total of the accurate weekly sales we have = 91,186, while the official total is 95,634. That leaves 4,448 sales unaccounted for in the "#38" & "#41" weeks. So those are very good estimations, given 2,300 + 2,100 = 4,400! I wish we knew the accurate sales just for the sake of continuity. :(

 

By the way, this is a bit odd... someone on the Sayhey facebook group posted this: https://i.imgur.com/DM5eVul.jpg - but most of that data is wrong. :drama: Its doing the rounds on Popjustice as well and people are believing it (they have no reason not to if they haven't seen our above data). I fear that I would look pedantic if I corrected them though. :kink:

If it can hold up over the nxt 2 weeks she will be officially gold.

It fell throughout the week because she had her promo on day one of the week. If it wasn't for the radio 2 promo it would have been more steady and a lot lower down the chart. Plus only 2500 copies from 17 to 47 so it's so close. I wouldn't put it down to streaming to be honest. Things happen during week also link the Rapper dying and two of his albums overtook her plus lots of 4.99 albums sell.

The promo def helped prop it up in the early part of the week, but the fact its still climbing on itunes is a good indicator that it should be steady enough this week.

With dannii looking almost certain to be finally back in the top 40 I hope golden can hold on as it would be great having them both in the top 40 at the same time.
