I would greatly welcome Light Years returning to the top 40. The Golden era is great and i am enjoying it but, Light Years is such a highlight of Kylie's career. The album was amazing on first listen and remains amazing. At that time, it was exactly the album Kylie needed to release.

Golden, in large also falls into this category but was never going to have the same impact for numerous reasons. Golden was such a relief when i heard the album first as i was extremely cautious of the album after the extremely disappointing Kiss Me Once which to this day remains in large forgettable.

I do hope the record company have a strategy in the coming weeks to help the album stay in the charts. Golden the single should help with that as would the Sigala duet if released in the coming weeks, price reduction at some point would help too. While i firmly believe it will happen, i will be delighted when Golden reaches 100,000. I also want Golden to outsell Kylie Christmas as it deserves to based on quality and its an original album that Kylie has heavily wrote herself.

1ts a 12-18 month campaign. its going to go in an out of the charts as and when promo happens.

#37 on today's update.

Could easily slip outside the Top 40 this week then - It would be great for her to have 2 Top 40 albums this week though!

Hopefully Golden can hang on as i too would love to see Kylie having 2 top 40 albums this week.

Week-by-week sales for Golden:

01 48,032

04 13,319

06 8,819

10 5,897

13 4,415

13 3,634

31 2,343

Total: 86,459

The source us chart mods receive is giving total sales of 86,270, so maybe Music Week have made a typo somewhere along the way, I'm not sure.

As mentioned in a different thread, the album is #35 today and looks set to sell a similar amount as it did last week.

It's the week at #10 that is a typo from Music Week - that should be 5,697!

There was also 11 copies sold before it officially went on sale, so while the weekly totals adds up to 86,259, overall it's 86,270.

Light Years is at 23 on Thursday update and maximum on 2500 vinyl sold so Golden may not reach 2k this week at 35?

I'm the same regarding 'Live a Little'! That and 'One Last Kiss' are really shining through for me at the moment.

Thanks Jay! Corrected, it looks like this:

01 48,032 (11 copies pre-release)

04 13,319

06 8,819

10 5,697

13 4,415

I will be extremely disappointed if Golden slips out of the top 40 today when we see the chart.

I think it would be fantastic for Kylie to have 2 albums in the top 40.

If it happens its not a bad result for a woman 30 years in the business.

I’ll be more disappointed if it ends up at #41 and got pushed out due to ‘Light Years’ returning

I’m almost certain ‘Golden’ will be able to hang on though.

I'd like to think Golden will hold on but it's all to play for with sales so close at the bottom of the Top 40!

Sales are so close in those positions that 100 sales could cost you gain you a couple of positions.

I hope Kylie manages it.

If it does hang on today then I think it’ll be it’s final week for now - currently #114 on iTunes and #64 on Amazon. The ‘Golden’ video release seems to have done little/nothing to boost the album yet.
Held on at 38! :cheer:

So happy with that! 2 months in the Top 40 along with a Top 40 single and well on its way to a gold certification :w00t:

Wonderful she has 2 albums in the Top 40, i really wanted that to happen as it has been a long time since she managed that before.

Golden will leave the top 40 in this coming week and Light Years will leave the top 100 but i would hope Golden will be making future Top 40 appearances.
