Posted February 7, 20169 yr http://i.imgur.com/F0mz7JI.png A new album from Nelly Furtado is expected to be out this year. Her site has changed today with a new logo and she mentioned last month that it was produced by John Congleton, who is known for his work with St. Vincent. February 7, 20169 yr Can't say I have much anticipation for this. Really grew to hate pretty much everything to do with her last album.
February 9, 20169 yr I liked her last album, but I think the strongest material from the era lay in the bonus tracks: "Soak It Up", "End of the World", "End Game", "Skylight", and "Cry". I loved "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)" too, it's a shame it never achieved any notable hit status, I guess there's a reason many people call the producer "Flopchild" these days. I'll be interested to see what this era sounds like; I'm wondering if it will be more "Indie" sounding, akin to the Folklore era or even more so. Edited February 9, 20169 yr by bluesunstorm
February 10, 20169 yr Let's hope this is better than her last album as that was a mess, title track aside. She just put out a new track called 'Hadron Collider' with Blood Orange which is absolutely lovely though so I would love it if she stuck to that kind of style/production for this project. Her voice will always have that magic element for me:
February 10, 20169 yr 'Waiting For The Night' was such a gem, it's a shame she was long past the point of relevance for it to do anything.
February 12, 20169 yr She has been posting the title 'What Happens In Dallas' all over social media so that could be the title of the new album. Some lovely potential album artwork too: https://www.instagram.com/nellyfurtado/
September 11, 20168 yr Author The album is called The Ride and it will be released sometime in March. From i-D: Nelly Furtado has been making a comeback recently. It started with "Hadron Collider," the hazy yet impassioned track she co-wrote for the recent Blood Orange album Freetown Sound, continued with her July single "Behind Your Back," and will culminate when her own new album, The Ride, drops in March 2017. Having joined forces with producer John Congleton, and swapped life lessons with collaborator Dev Hynes, Furtado is ready to start a brand new period for herself as an artist. Last night, during a high-powered set at the NYFW kickoff party, she also debuted a brand-new song, "Islands of Me." Also, the track "Islands of Me" was uploaded on SoundCloud.
September 11, 20168 yr oh Islands of Me is amazing! very nice beat never understood how the last album flopped so bad, really liked Spirit Indestructible the single, the song was too good for the charts
September 11, 20168 yr TSI the album was awful, I can see why it flopped. Waiting For The Night was a total bop though, that should've smashed. It's amazing how far she fell in 6 years, if she would have released in say 2008 or 2009 she'd probably have continued to run the game! 6 years is just such a long time in pop.
September 11, 20168 yr 'Islands of Me' is odd but I like it a lot. 'Hadron Collider' is one of my songs of the year too so I'm glad to hear Dev Hynes has been involved with the album. I actually quite liked 'The Spirit Indestructible'! Not the best of albums by any means, but quite a few highlights on it.

She was too arrogant.
September 11, 20168 yr Also her hair makes her look like she popped into the recording studio onr day and the next a videoshoot in the middle of a schoolrun
September 12, 20168 yr 'Islands of Me' has some production issues but there is something there. I like it. I hope Dev is heavily involved with the new record. Circles was my favourite song on the Spirit Indestructible, although the album was a dud. jFZqBcXu3SU
