Tbf the last time Jack saw Abi she was a shit character who no-one would ever in their right minds actively seek out. He hadn't met the post-live episodes ICON until now.

She still is shit tho.

Yes, but it's now hilarious and has been pretty much since she tried to drown Lauren.

Louise sings Bad Blood tonight. It sounds spectacular.

Rebecca could never.

Louise got flushed :heehee: Like father like son
What was actually quite a chilling, uncomfortable scene was spoiled by Johnny just casually walking in, oblivious to what was happening. The recreation of Ian/Phil toilet-gate didn't work either.
What a great episode! Poor Abi! and new Johnny is very cute

Well of course they couldn't miss an opportunity to shove the Carters in our faces

That was the worst cliffhanger ever. Moment completely ruined by Johnny turning up with a stupid smile on his face, failing to even notice the commotion behind him and the need for Linda to scream out 'Johnny' when no one else cares just because if she didn't then viewers wouldn't get who he was meant to be.

I'd love a retaliation from Abi tomorrow about how Ben has always lied to her and even given her an STD but I doubt she'll even remember to say anything.

I love how everyone watched him drag her through the Vic half naked and clearly very angry without doing anything. Great "community".

It's a shame they ruined the doof doof by shoving Johnny in our face too. Especially after they built the tension with that really creepy scene in the toilet!

Anyone else feel that Kush and Carmel feel a bit pointless since Shabnam left? She really was the best thing in the show and they clearly had more planned for her.

I found the end of the episode unrealistic to the point of being jarring! Like burbe says, I don't think Ben would have made it from the bathroom to the mic, dragging a half naked Abi, without one person in there trying to intervene. Her Uncle was there!! I don't think a bar full of people would be stunned into not moving and remaining silent.

Johnny just walking up to the bar as if absolutely nothing is happening was incredibly awkward too. He knew Ben, so he'd probably react in some way... a bit stunned, maybe? He could have walked into the pub, immediately seen/heard/sensed what was going on... I think that'd be enough to make you stand awkwardly at the door. Then Linda could have turned to see him at the doorway and exclaimed "Johnny". The character returning really didn't deserve the "duff duff" over Abi/Ben.

If I look beyond all this, this episode actually made me feel sorry for Abi. She did a bad thing for sure, but Ben is certainly no angel himself. Like T Boy mentioned, I actually want to see Abi get some form of revenge for this public humiliation. :drama:

Yeah I agree for sure, in any community you would not just stand there as he does that to a young girl :/ A whole pub full, not one even shouted to stop let alone intervened!

I agree about Carmel and Kush too. It's like they're trying to still continue her as if nothing happened but they feel so left out now, out of place. I think she maybe needs to get together with Mas or they could bring in Kush's brothers and develop the family as a whole a bit more. They just feel like they're plonked on the square with nothing but Kush's moping and need to his mum to drag them forward and it's dragging Carmel as a character down. It's nice when you see her with Denise, for example, but it's nowhere near the potential she had and the level she was at before :/

It was definitely unrealistic but it was the first time I've properly felt sorry for Abi. It was really uncomfortable viewing and my heart really went out to her. As people have said Johnny's reappearance completely ruined the otherwise harrowing scene.

Louise singing Bad Blood is a moment for life. *.*

It was unrealistic that no-one stepped in straight away, but this is soapland and, whenever there is a big reveal, everyone always stands there and listens. Same happened with Sharongate. We'll see the reaction in the next episode and, judging from spoiler pics, Jack does step in and I'm sure he'll lose it. Yet the likes of those on DS forums are reacting as if they are absolutely disgusted with the whole show and will never watch again because it's apparently sending the message out that misogyny and sexual abuse is okay. Sorry, but I don't think anyone watched that scene and thought it was okay and I'm certain the producers were not trying to put that message across.

The scene was meant to be uncomfortable and it's another development into Ben's character and his lack of respect for women, possibly a result of lack of good mother figures and the discouragement of being 'feminine' himself. Not that it means we should sympathise with Ben, of course not, but it makes for interesting viewing and makes Eastenders what it is.

In regards to Kush/Carmel, I think future plans for them were knocked out of place by Shabnam/Rakhee's departure, but I hope they stay (well, I can take or leave Kush given he only worked well when bouncing off Shabnam/Rakhee but he's pretty essential for keeping Carmel and I think she has the potential to be a great character). Given how Carmel has integrated with other characters and established friendships with Masood, Kathy and Shirley, I'd like to think she's safe, as well as the fact that the producers surely realise how well received Bonnie Langford has been in the role.
