Well, yes, this month was super cheap pop without originality but I sent it purely because it was my 50th contest and wanted to send a song which summed up Altyr/the sound probably most associated with my entries over the years. It's also my favourite ever entry and an all time favourite song so this is all perhaps a bit too much personal investment, but yeah.

 

What I really meant to say was time for NAKED AMBITION to take hold full time.

anyway all these anniversary entries flopping does NOT give me hope for #Danaelanda88 :(

Oh, I do, and I wish this was still that halcyon time when I actually CARED about what I sent in the sense that it was a song I WANTED to represent Altyr and me in the contest. This month was the first time I've done that in what must be 15 contests. And I know there's been talk of ''the spirit of BJSC'' in other threads recently, but I'm afraid to say I think I lost that somewhere along the last couple of years.

What everyone needs is to experience a triple DNQ! Ever since that happened to me in the woeful summer of 2013 I really haven't spared a second thought about how well my entries might fare and it's really made me feel liberated in choosing my entries.

 

A top ten these days is a bonus rather than an expectation, or even a desire really, as long as I'm getting songs I love out there to people that would have never otherwise heard them then I'm happy. And obviously I love to qualify and enjoy the final more but a DNQ doesn't impact me in the same way as my first few did, far from it.

 

On a separate note, I REALLY miss the old/classic Altyr sound a lot, and it's a shame that sound doesn't really do well anymore.

HURRAHHHH. I had my doubts but hooray. I know I voted for Dalisska and Espen of the ones that DNQ'd but I voted at 11:58 and didn't save my votes so where they were, I have no idea. Both of them between 4 and 2 I reckon.
