Man I remember when MATM was released, and the kiss. Bearing in mind I was only 9, there was such an uproar. I very much like the song and it gave us a taste of a Britney song defying song structure norms (before Get Naked).

#16. Born To Make You Happy | Baby One More Time

At #16 and the last of the 7 average's, 'Born To Make You Happy', released in December 1999 as the 4th and final International single from her debut album 'Baby One More Time'. Often cited as an early standout track upon the album's release, and a definite potential future single, which was a smart move for Britney and her team to actually release it worldwide. While the American & Oceania markets got 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart' as their final single, we thankfully got this, which was clearly the much better choice, as this shows more depth and maturity in Britney vocals, with a sense of longing and emotion that was totally unexpected for someone of her age at the time. This not only showcased another side to the album, it gives us something slightly different from the first 3 singles and adds a little more class to the era, which makes this the perfect end to an already fantastic first run of hits. This did gain several high rates throughout, including 2 11's, 10 10's, 7 9's & multiple 8's and 7's, and did look set for a higher position, but about mid-way through the scores did start to slow down with a couple of 4's and 5's, but in the end it still settled for a decent top 20 position, which isn't all add. Upon release the song became a success by becoming her 2nd UK #1, as well as topping the charts in Denmark & Ireland, as well as managing top 5 peaks in Sweden, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands & Finland and then finally top 10 mostly everywhere else.
Should be slightly lower but quite the forgotten gem. Love 😍
Bloody love If U Seek Amy  Such a fun pop song, should be top 10 at least! Agreed about MATM though, it's rather good but it's definitely disappointing for a song that brings together two massive artists of that calibre.

#15. Hold It Against Me | Femme Fatale

At #15 we have 'Hold It Against Me', released in January 2011 as the lead single from her 7th album 'Femme Fatale'. Now there was a lot of hype leading up to this and was therefore highly anticipated, considering that this was coming from a new album since 2008, and it would see Britney taking a risk by blending different styles of genres such as industrial dance bears, grime & dubstep. Originally the song was offered to Katy Perry, but felt that the style did not suit her and considering Dr Luke and Max Martin wrote and produced the song, it still differs from anything she's done before. But does it live up to all the hype and glamour, personally I'd say yes and I just loved it, with it's epic sound and effective chorus, and plus that amazing dub step breakdown, which really adds another layer to it and was just pure genius. Plus the music video was just so awesome, with a Britney vs Britney battle, flashing lights and a weird and wonderful production that really suits the nature of the song. Upon release it became an instant chart topper in the USA due to high airplay and downloads, giving her 4th #1. In the UK it managed to peak at #6, becoming her lowest peaking lead single (at the time), while still making this her 21st top 10 hit, however it did prove that she was starting to lose her relevance here. Elsewhere it managed to top the charts in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand & South Korea, while managing top 10 peaks in a further 16 countries. Now this leaves only one 'Femme Fatale' era single left in the running.

Same; loved it so much on first play but it's not held up as well as Till the World Ends for me. That said it's still a 9 lol.

But yes, the video is far too hyperbolic for Britney.

I agree, this is still a 8 or 9, I underrated it in my rate a bit I think, but it's still fantastic, I think it's in around the right place. The video is awful, though and Til The World Ends is a lot better (and should have been the lead single).
'Hold It Against Me' hasn't held up for me as well as when I first heard it, but I do still enjoy it. I didn't like 'Till The World Ends' at all for a while but that wormed its way into my affections and I prefer it now.

#14. Break The Ice | Blackout

Avg. 8.214

Highest Rates: 11: (***, Regina, HausofKubrick), 10: (Liam, *Rob*, Ivica, Joe, Casey, 152chris, #Cody Slayberry, blackout, Lukuzz, toxic air, DionTheSats123, Kylie Jackson), 9.5/9: (Luciano, Johnjo07, SamJudd, Beatrix Kiddo, River Lea, chart wizard, Chapman, SevenSeize, Jade, Jay, liamk97, RiseR)

Lowest Rates: -1/0: (Mr Pmt, Ultraviolence1989), 4: (Robot, LushlifeLee)

At #14 we finally see one of the 'Blackout' era singles drop, 'Break The Ice', which proved to be a real dark horse throughout the scoring process. During the first half it looked as if it would be around the top 25, then suddenly a load of high scores started piling in and it steadily climbed towards the end and settled for this position, which isn't too bad at all, considering the amount of far bigger hits that have already dropped before it. The ranges of scores has been quite polarizing, firstly this is the first so far to gain more than 2 11's, but also got double -1/0's, but mostly the scores remained high with 34 high scores, a few average scores and just 4 low scores. Released in March 2008 as the 3rd and final single from her 6th album, and like I already said 'Radar' was originally planned, but this was picked instead due to a fan vote, and 'Radar' was meant to follow this, but due to her personal troubles, no more singles were released. This was a fantastic choice for a single, if I ever heard one, sure the album itself is full of greatness, and this is definitely one of them with it's electro R&B style that's multilayerd with other sounds, really shows some fantastic skill on the producers part, which gives it that immense atmosphere. As for the music video, I know some people weren't pleased with it, because it's animated, but I found it excellent with it's brilliant Anime design and intriguing premise, I know Britney was unable to shoot a video for it, but this was decent substitute and glad the label didn't go with the usual tour clips performance videos, which do get used a lot of the years. Okay I know some of you would have preferred a proper live action video, but this is what we got and it's great. Upon release the song was a moderate success, due to no promo and therefore wasn't as successful as the first 2 singles, but it did okay. In the USA it managed to peak at #43, while faring much better in the UK by reaching #15. Elsewhere it managed top 10 peaks in Belgium, Canada, Finland & Italy and hit top 20 in Sweden, Denmark & Czech Republic, then top 40 peaks in Australia, New Zealand, Germany & Austria.
