At #9 in this countdown is 'Till The World Ends', released in March 2011 as the 2nd single from her 7th album 'Femme Fatale' and this also means that we say goodbye to not only the last of that era, but the last Britney single released in this decade and funnily enough none of the 'FF' singles received any 11's. However as for this song, well to put it simply, it's awesome and was the perfect follow up to 'HIAM', while it doesn't stray too far away from that sound, with it's euphoric dance sound and club friendly beats that are pulsating where Britney's vocals really soars with it's seductive verses that really complements the song's production, that makes this on the whole one of her most confident sounding songs to date. Originally this was meant for Ke$ha who also co-wrote the song, but for whatever reasons passed on it, but did provide vocals on the remix version which also features Nicki Minaj, that does add another layer to the song, and makes for a quite interesting sound. But it's Britney's version I find Britney's version is the best one, and the one I've most connected with. Upon release the song became a smash on the USA charts by reaching #3, becoming her 11th top 10 hit. But in the UK it didn't perform as well by peaking at #21, showing further proof that her relevance was fading here, and reception to the album wasn't all that great by charting in the lower end of the top 10, and dropping out rather quickly. It seemed that the UK weren't keen on this sound for Britney. Elsewhere it had much better luck by topping the charts in Poland, Slovakia & South Korea, while hitting top 5 in Israel, Norway, Italy, Canada & Sweden, while hitting top 10 in 10 other countries.

At #8 we have an early Britney classic '(You Drive Me) Crazy', released in August 1999 as the 3rd single from her debut album 'Baby One More Time' and is just simple pure 90's pop at it's finest and funnily enough when I bought her first album, this was one of the tracks that I'd predicted would be a single, as firstly it was such an obvious choice as well as been a clear standout that really gets you in the mood to.. just party. Of course it became remixed for it's official single release titled 'The Stop Remix', which okay really doesn't differ all that much from the album version, but it does give it that extra spark and really does give it more of an edge. Even at this early stage of her career, you can tell that Britney had enough charisma and presence to pull off a simple pop song into something genius. What else is there to say, this track is just brilliant and fun in every way possible and even the music video where Britney's a sexy waitress in a dance club, and then takes centre stage and dances in that green top and black jeans, along with that big curly hair, which all brings back that sense of nostalgia, and even the cameo of Melissa Joan Hart just adds to it and brings back memories of a more innocent time, and plus will always remember 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' as a kid growing up, and every time I see it, it just makes me smile and think of a more innocent time. The song was extremely popular here gaining a 11, 11 10's. 15 9's and multiple 8's and 7's. In fact there was only one low score of 3, as the 2nd lowest was 7 which came from 6 people. So still a very popular song across the board. Upon release the song became another success, as she was unstoppable at the time, with the album selling millions across the globe and this only furthered her success. In the USA it became the album's 2nd biggest hit by reaching #10 and in the UK it peaked at #5 becoming her 3rd hit in a row. Elsewhere it managed to top the charts in Belgium & Spain, while hitting top 5 peaks in France, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Germany, Swiss & New Zealand, then finally top 10/20 positions everywhere else.
Pleased to see YDMC do as well as this. Not sure it'd appear in my personal Britney top 10, but it's a deserved placing for it!

Just caught up with this and wish I'd rated Do something higher tbh I had a listen through the singles and realised how much I love that song

Good top 10 thus far :cheer:

#07. I'm A Slave 4 U | Britney

Lowest Rates: 1: (Eyes), 5.5: (Mackenzie, Regina)

At #7 we have the wonderfully diverse 'I'm A Slave 4 U', which where not only do we get our first glimpse of Britney sexing up her image, but also taking her first foray into Urban music. Released in September 2001 as the lead single from her 3rd album 'Britney', and also means that we say goodbye to yet another era following the ranks of 'Britney Jean', 'Circus' & 'Femme Fatale'. First premiered with an iconic live performance at the MTV Music Video Awards, where she was clad in a sexy midriff baring top, with white slacks, and a giant snake around her neck. All this showed that Britney was ready and willing to move forward with her sound and image and present the world with a new confident outlook, that was pulled off perfectly, and pulling of a great promotion strategy for her new single. The song itself was completely different to anything she's done before at this point, which was a real risky move, especially so early on in her career. Okay it was no surprise that she was gonna shed the girl next door image, because we all knew that was coming (it always does). But this really did split people down the middle, but personally I loved it, with it's minimal electronic production, along with Britney's confident breathy vocal delivery along with that steamy filthy and sweaty music video, which suits the song perfectly. The Neptunes production is very obvious throughout this song, and they really pulled it off, and even today the song still sounds great. while it may not be as fresh sounding as it did back then, it's definitely a banging tune that's an important part of Britney's discography. Originally this was offered to Janet Jackson as well as 'Boys', but she passed on them, but did record a demo of 'Boys'. Upon release it didn't make much impact on the US Top 100, by peaking at #27, due to it not being released on CD single, instead it was released on 12inch single, which did hinder sales. But fared much better in the UK where it reached #4, becoming another chart hit for her there. Elsewhere it also managed success by reaching top 5 in Portugal, Germany, Norway, Belgium, Italy & Hungary, as well as top 10 peaks in 12 other countries. This only beat 'YDMC' by 0.5 points, and was for the most part below that, until towards the end where it received a slew of high scores and was consistently popular throughout with 3 11's, 13 10's, 7 9's and several 8's and 7's, with only 3 low scores.
(You Drive Me) Crazy is all kinds of fantastic, still never fails to put me in a great mood  I'm a Slave 4 U gets more hate than it deserves too really!

The #6 position will be coming later tonight, any guesses on what it might be
I'm A Slave 4 U is one of Britneys absolute worst in my opinion. I can see the appeal and why people would like it, but I've never been able to connect with it or enjoy it.

#06. Oops I Did It Again | Oops I Did It Again

Avg. 8.869

Highest Rates: 11: (Kylie Jackson), 10: (Liam, SamJudd, Ivica, Euphorique, Beatrix Kiddo, Joe, ***, Ultraviolence1989, #Cody Slayberry, DionTheSats123, Jay, liamk97, Addy King), 9.5/9: (Luciano, hotchoc26, River Lea, JoeyJeppssonWall, Eyes, Casey, 152chris, harryflynn0908, chart wizard, blackout, Robot, Chapman, Jade)

Lowest Rates: 6.5/6: (Mr Pmt, Regina, Lukuzz), 7.5/7: (Johnjo07, Mackenzie, Vibe, Explozian)

At #6 in this countdown is the classic 'Oops I Did It Again', which honestly comes as a total surprise, as I was sure that this would end up in the top 5, and for a while it was, but alas it got overtaken by just 1.5 point. In the end it has received a very good average of 8.8, and never received any scores under 5. But honestly I thought it would have gained more than 1 11. Released in March 2000 as the lead single from her 2nd album of the same name and instantly became another iconic signature tune classic. Hot on the heels of an already massively success debut album and striking while the iron's still hot, this proves that her prior success wasn't just a fluke, and delivers yet again another powerful anthem. Production wise this just soars above sounds bigger than anything on her debut (which is also great). This was a genius way to not only introduce us of what's in store for the rest of the album. Of course let's not forget to mention that spoken Titanic referencing bridge, which was wonderfully cheesy and adds something totally unexpected to an already brilliant song. Due to the success of this the album broke records selling $1.3 Million units in it's first week of release in the USA, already proving that Britney Spears was a force to reckoned with. Funnily enough the original titles for the album was gonna be either 'Sunflower' or 'Platinum 2000', but Britney pushed for the title of this song instead, which was a much smarter move, as those other titles are awful. Upon release the song of course became a huge smash hit by topping the UK charts, making this her 3rd UK #1 hit, as well as topping the charts in 13 other countries and then top 5 everywhere else. In the USA it managed to reach #9 and didn't climb no higher due to it not getting a CD release, which was ridiculous as it would have definitely became another #1 for her there, as it topped all the other component charts.
