Just heard that Meghan Trainor song... It sounds lifted straight out of 2001!

Interested to see if this becomes a trend, an early 00's revival would most be most welcome.

While I kind of agree, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel with the notion of Meghan Trainor being seen as a trendsetter.

I thought the same actually, it could've been a Britney Spears song from that time

:re: 475. Hailee Steinfeld - Rock Bottom (feat. DNCE)

Maybe the DNCE feature could help Hailee get some radio support for this one, it's such a radio-friendly song but then we thought that about Love Myself and look what happened! This is already doing better in Australia than Love Myself ever did though so maybe there is hope.

Yep, it's #1 in all of the smaller European countries and obscure ones which counts towards its total :o

I wouldnt call being currently #1 in Germany, Italy, Spain and France as part of the smaller European countries though. Its just huge in all of Europe, and has been for many months now.

I was kinda hoping that "Pop Kids" by Pet Shop Boys would make some sort of impression on the Top 100, the CD was released last week but after a performance on The Graham Norton Show I expected it be a bit higher than 164 ! The EP is 138 in the Albums which again is quite low given the sluggish nature of the Album chart at the moment.

So I guess for you only the UK is a big country

Well Faded is number 1 in Germany for a month now... it's a very small european country though :heehee:

 30. Years & Years - Desire (feat. Tove Lo)

 49. Stevie McCrorie - My Heart Never Lies

Stevie McCrorie now at #43. The song didn't sound too bad actually on The Voice tonight.

Not a very big effect for Years & Years - still at #30.

combined now

1 I Took A Pill 1.00

2 Lukas Graham 0.73

3 Fifth Harmony 0.71

4 Sia Cheap Thrills 0.66

5 Zara 0.57

6 Sigala 0.50

so everybody is miles behind Mike Posner... wonder how many weeks he can be at #1... cannot see anything in the top 40 that could climb to #1...

Shocked at what a minimal effect Years & Years had from The Voice!
I didn't see the performance but Years & Years aren't exactly known for providing great vocals on TV appearances

I'd imagine it's more the song has been out for well over a year and even with a different version it's not that dissimilar to the original -plus the original is better and already has a top 30 peak

It's a shame they didn't release a different song or revisit Take Shelter instead

:ne: 1384. Billie Marten - Out of the Black

Used in the finale of BBC Three drama 'Thirteen' that went online a couple of hours ago, intrigued to see how high this goes!
