I'd say Zayn is still on for just shy of 40k, especially when streaming is added. Which is what I expected from him and I'm sure it'll be a solid seller.

I'm not that surprised that Zayn will underwhelm - he got to number one with his single on hype, but number one singles based on hype alone doesn't always translate into album sales. I could see the overall sales of his album to end up disappointing at 100-200k.

1D have only sold around 400k of their last so far right i think he will struggle to reach that could be interesting

Mintroyale just confirmed to me on Twitter that Zayn had only sold a few hundred more than James first DAY sales, so probably around 7-8k at best.

In that case, the best case scenario I see for Mind Of Mine is 25,000 copies.

Zayn only sold another 3,000 copies on Saturday. At this rate Adele might overtake him.

Zayn should be doing well on streaming, physical sales might be what affects him, don't thuiink he's that high on amazon's physical charts

I do think Zayn will probably be less frontloaded overall than people expect though, I can see the album hanging around for months to come so long as the radio keep supporting him.

It is fair - it's called having an "opinion" which I'm entitled to express. It so annoys me the success of people like 1D and Zayn who are completely over hyped and have very little talent when there are far better groups about like Lawson who struggle to achieve half of their success and yet write and produce all their own material and seem very down to earth genuine nice guys.

Maybe this is just me but I don't think talent is an opinion really. I don't like Maroon 5 as I've expressed before but I wouldn't say Adam Levine is untalented. Writing material shouldn't make you deserve more success anyway I think. But this debate could go on and on and that's just my viewpoint, I feel you've been a tad harsh on them just cause they aren't to your taste.

 

For the record, I'm not even that big on Zayn's album, I find it a bit boring actually!
