March 27, 201610 yr Not a fan of one direction myself but to say they are untalented because you dont like them is a a bit unfair Millions have bought their singles and albums through choice nobody is forced to buy or stream a song but if your going with the hype card isnt adele the most hype artist out there atm and she is extremely talented imo Isnt the definition of pop music - music that is popular To the person that said they havent worked hard its the x factor thats made them what they are other than little mix and leona lewis possibly, how many act have been able to maintain the level of success of them so you cant really use that card Success and selling loads of songs doesn't mean someone is talented. Genuine talent is people who have good voices, can sing and perform well as well as those who write and produce their own songs. One Direction are absolutely none of those things in my view and I'm entitled to that opinion whether you want to disagree or not. There are many reasons I despite 1D and the success they have achieved which is certainly not deserved and in my view associated with their level of exposure through the media and X factor and not a sign of their genuine talent. They have been lucky being signed to a label who is fronted by Simon Cowell who has no genuine interest in making good music and is more interested in making a quick buck for himself. The difference with Adele is she is talented and does have a good voice. Yes, she is overhyped but I can appreciate her talent because of her exceptional voice.
March 27, 201610 yr I'm not too surprised with Zayn. 'Pillowtalk' hype seemed to kind of evaporate to my eyes and I don't feel like he's a particularly liked celebrity, especially among the 1D fanbase given a) he left and b) he's had quite a lot of friction with the other members since then. I'm kind of happy with the poor result. It's been a really obnoxious campaign all-round (don't ask me to expand on that) and I think I'd prefer anyone else in the group to do better than this. Louis solo album inc. etc.
March 27, 201610 yr From what I've heard of Zayn's album, I think it's very good actually. It's probably not the sort of album that'd sell well across the general public though - like albums by Kendrick Lamar, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd. Doing well on Spotify though, just like these albums did.

Again all opinion and we can keep going roundin circles but at the end of the day they were successful and sold millions thats Fact talent or not undeserved or not they sold they were successfull but to say they wernt hard working global arenas traveling world wide performing is hard working
March 27, 201610 yr Again all opinion and we can keep going roundin circles but at the end of the day they were successful and sold millions thats Fact talent or not undeserved or not they sold they were successfull but to say they wernt hard working global arenas traveling world wide performing is hard working You've misunderstood what I said. Nobody is saying they aren't successful and haven't sold millions and being popular and selling loads doesn't equate to being talented at the end of the day. The point I was making is that they haven't had to work hard in the same way as other bands or artists to achieve that success; it was kinda there from the beginning due to their immense exposure from the x factor and the media. Unlike other acts like Lawson who are far more credible and talented but have achieved much less. Yeah of course it's subjective; that's why you also can't go around saying people they aren't allowed to express their views about artists or groups not being talented; its an opinion at the end of the day which we are all entitled to make so let's just agree to disagree for the sake of it. March 27, 201610 yr If it was all about vocal talent, every winner of The Voice UK would have had number 1 albums, as they all could sing very well. It's about far more than that.
March 27, 201610 yr I really like what I've heard from Zayn! I haven't heard the album but 'Pillow Talk' and 'Like I Would' are really strong singles, 'Pillow Talk' is probably the only #01 of the year I like so far actually!
March 27, 201610 yr Blonde starting to go green on Kworb, I'm hopeful that their collab. with Craig David can climb this week - and in particular climb above Sigala and eventually go onto become a much bigger hit thus sledgehammering Ministry of Sound. :D
March 27, 201610 yr I'd be shocked if Zayn had only sold a few hundred more than James managed in the first update last week, considering there's a huge fanbase element to him. I'm fairly sure it's referring to James' full week sales. No, it's first day, and that's why he said "ONLY".
March 27, 201610 yr No, it's first day, and that's why he said "ONLY". Yes, we've established this since :P
March 28, 201610 yr I'm guessing the lack of an update from the OCC is down to it being Easter Monday? Correct me if I'm wrong though...
March 28, 201610 yr Hi sorry for the OFftopic: Where / When can i find out about top 200 album chart in the uk last week? thanks
March 28, 201610 yr I'm guessing the lack of an update from the OCC is down to it being Easter Monday? Correct me if I'm wrong though... Yes, though the August BH they did still give us an update on the Tuesday lunchtime when they rolled back into work. *Cough* Part-timers *Cough*
March 29, 201610 yr I'm glad Zayn hasn't sold well. He and One Direction are both completely overrated and don't deserve to sell in such large amounts considering they have shockingly little talent. This. They are puppets with weak voice. Omg come on Adele, rollier than ever, roll over them with immense talent!! Edited March 29, 201610 yr by Virginia's Walls
March 29, 201610 yr Zayn with a 5K lead over Adele per the OCC FB page Bonemassa #3 in albums, Birdie #4 Zayn is set to score this week's Number 1 with his debut solo album Mind Of Mine. The collection is leading the way on the Official Albums Chart, currently over 5,000 combined sales ahead of his closest competitor, Adele's 25. Zayn's debut album has been highly anticipated since his departure from One Direction almost exactly one year ago. The singer bagged the fastest selling single of the year so far with Pillowtalk back in February, and he's released a series of songs in the build up to the album's release - you can see where those peaked on the chart here. Meanwhile, a further six new entries are heading for this Friday's album chart. US blues singer Joe Bonamassa debuts at Number 3 with his latest effort Blues Of Desperation, Birdy's third album Beautiful Lies starts at Number 4, and British metalcore band Asking Alexandria are new at 10 with The Black. Further down, White Denim's Stuff (16), Amon Amarth's Jomsviking (20) and Bob Mould's Patch The Sky (34) are all set to earn a place on this week's Top 40. Over on the Official Singles Chart, Mike Posner is on course for a third week at the top with I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix). The track is currently just over 10,000 combined sales ahead of the Number 2 song, Lukas Graham's 7 Years. Meanwhile, Fifth Harmony are edging closer to second place with Work From Home, currently at 3, and Sia's Cheap Thrills is up three spots to Number 5. Outside the Top 10, Alan Walker's Faded leaps six places to Number 12, Chainsmokers' Roses moves from 33 to 27, and Meghan Trainor's No looks set to hit the UK Top 40 for the first time this week, up ten places to 32.
