Regardless of the Sean Paul addition, it's still the 4th single from a 500k+ selling album, and its airplay has barely kicked in. I'd say it's performed pretty decently so far all things considered. The video is due tomorrow anyway, so it should climb back up.

 

Oh and naturally I disagree with your first point. 'Hair' is a jam.

There are two versions at 126 + 654 so far, I assume as a result of this. :D

Eh, I still don't see it doing much. Obvs the label were hoping the Sean Paul feature would cancel out the 4th single from a 500k+ selling album problem - that along with the fact it's had TOTD treatment and it's barely inside the iTunes top 20 doesn't really bode well. I'm not writing it off but it's hardly the best of starts.

I agree with this! If there's anything we can't do in the current era of the chart, it'a yell "flop" in week 1, most songs build to a peak now and I expect LM will peak in a future week.

People seem to never learn about the calling things a flop in week one. It happened back in September when Little Mix released 'Love Me Like You', which, eventually, went on to sell 450k, but it's still happening now. 1D, Drake, Beyonce, Rihanna and Bieber are some of the very few artists that can have a big hit week 1 with on air sales, everyone else it happens really slowly. Look at someone like Selena Gomez who has very slow build hits. I doubt 'Hair' will be as big as the first three singles, but it'll still be a decent enough hit I imagine.

Where did Soundcheck get to in its opening week on itunes and the OCC? Seven doing very well at present!

Soundcheck peaked at #13 on itunes, fast climb, fast drop

peaked at #95 on the singles chart
