WTF at that Madonna cash in! Even I didn't know anything about it.

A part of me was hoping PJ would end up with higher first week sales than Let England Shake but, at a guess, ending up with ~15k isn't too bad. Terrible for a #1 of course.

PJ Harvey should easily maintain her lead, I can't see Adele finding 4k to topple her at the end of the week,

And that Madonna album *.* and those Phil Collins albums are re-issues.

The Madonna thing is due to Record Store Day. Same with the Bowie album that's top 10.
Turns out the Madonna album was a rare Japan-only EP from 1984, guessing it has been released here for the first time.

At least Sales for number 1 Album will be greater than last week's!

I'm guessing the album will be out of the top 100 by the end of the week

Outside the top 40:

47 will.i.am

48 Nick Jonas

51 Luvbug

52 Jay Sean

56 Rihanna (Kiss it Better)

Having now seen that it only sold about 600 copies yesterday, it's actually on track to match last week's. :( And Adele, who is likely to be #2, is on track to sell less than the #6 album did last week.

Well it's already sold what the #100 album last week sold so wouldn't be too sure!

I imagine the PJ Harvey album will be incredibly frontloaded, so I'm not convinced that Adele won't get it by the end of the week. It will also plummet next week.
I'm dreading to ask where are All Saints pls? The link in OCC hasn't updated yet.

#20 ouch... wish you didn't ask :(

That's right. I had both of them in my sweaty hands on Saturday, but only bought the Madonna one in the end.

Madonna's is a vinyl version of a former Japan-only release.

Bowie's is a vinyl picture disc in a clear sleeve.

Quite surprised PJ Harvey has sold quite as much as 8k so far tbh, thought itd be less than 5k!

Lol did not expect a Madonna new entry in the album chart this week. Thanks for clearing up what it is guys :heehee:

Hoping Little Mix can hang onto the top 40 this week but it's looking doubtful. Also Sia to close the gap and get the #1 next week please???

Ouch ! Album sales are really in freefall at the moment.

I think it is time for a review on the pricing of Albums, £9.99 for standard CD, £8.99 for download and £21.99 for vinyl of P.J. Harvey's Album are all over-priced!

The casual buyer is becoming less inclined to buy Albums.

A price cut would help but I think it's more that spotify's killing off album sales. Why buy an album when you can just stream the tracks you want to listen to whenever you want?
