The lack of a runaway lead suggests we've hit the point of seriously good music, collectively speaking. Placing in the middle of the album rank is Skin - the longest track on the album which is an indication of what an experience this song is. Production takes a shift from the more pleasant and dreamy tones earlier in the album and is notably deeper and darker, with a thumping bassline that provides a suspenseful backdrop whilst the electronic effects get faster-paced and overwhelming as the song reaches its climax. The lyrics deal with spiritual connections through the art of meditation, seeking a higher level of consciousness, although some interpretations (and I believe more fascinating) believe drug use is referred to, in attempt of finding true yourself or relieving yourself from the stresses of reality (a context that explains the frantic production when it presumably all goes wrong - think 'Devil Pray'). Even ignoring any lyrical meaning, this song just mixes an array of emotions from one extreme to the other - something that has always been so compelling to me, even when I was little and too young to really evaluate songs, which is why it remains a key moment on a truly magical album.

I'm surprised that Skin has left as early as it did and I'll also be shocked if Sky Fits Heaven goes in this round. How boring it would be to have the final five all be the singles.
