Well done Northern Ireland. Given themselves a brilliant chance of reaching the last 16 now, what an achievement!

Turkey could be doing Northern Ireland a big flavour tonight if it stays 1-0 between them and Czech Republic.

 

 

Leaving aside the fact that the penalty shouldn't have been given in the first place, how can three officials miss the fact that the goalkeeper was at least two yards off his line when the kick was taken?

That rule always seems sketchy at best, just like the encroachment rule on penalties which almost never seems to be given...

Oops Spain play Italy :lol: will be a good match, as things stand

HUGE game that, of course a repeat of the Euro 2012 final.

 

Probably gonna be a dull 0-0 going all the way to pens though, but it does open up the competition a bit now!

That's not what I expected in the end, but Croatia really played well, the match has been entertaining to watch, and that penalty which was saved, great goalkeeping.

I love to see Hungary beating Portugal tomorrow, Portugal is just one man team, and Ronaldo has been terrible in this tournament. Love to see Iceland going through as well ahead of Portugal

So pleased Croatia beat Spain and we have a fairly open draw coming up, should mean we have a couple of interesting teams going quite far in the draw.

Czech Republic went AWOL against Turkey tonight, the match was too easy for Turkey. they will be through to the round of 16 if Portugal lose and Sweden fail to beat Belgium tomorrow.

 

The reward for Northern Ireland getting through is a match against France!

The bipolar world of Euro 2016 strikes again! A 6 goal thriller at a time when a lot of people (including me) would have missed the game. Probably Ireland vs Italy will be a dull 0-0 draw now.

I have a sneaky feeling Ireland will win this match. They have to win & it would be fantastic to see all 4 home nations in the last 16. Furthermore Italy have already won the group whatever happens!

Kudos to anyone that predicted that final scoreline,
