Quicker than a ray of light she's flying

 

 

 

Just missing out on the final is the titular single from the album and the second released from it. One of the most uplifting and joyous songs in M's ouvre and certainly the stand out dance number from the otherwise sombre album. It's a song of freedom and letting go and releasing all inhibitions. Wonderfully produced with an eclectic mix of instruments and sounds thoughout all rushing alongside Madonna's shrill vocals and lofty voice. The music video (which I have special memories of - it (and Frozen ;o) were my earliest memories of listening to and watching music!) is spectacular. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund it shows Madonna in front of a global landscape and was hugely critically acclaimed, receiving the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video, as well as winning five awards at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. The song two was well received, gaining three Grammy nominations altogether and reaching the top 5 in the UK and US. A song that never fails to put you in a good mood and your 3rd favourite (or 3rd least disliked) song on the album ~

I voted 'The Power of Goodbye' because 'Frozen' is in my top 3 Madonna songs bit TPOG is close behind so I don't mind what wins really at this stage! Both are absolute stunners <3

why should it "absolutely not" out of interest? It's not a million miles away from TPOG or other songs on the album and is a defining hit off it so why would it not make a good winner? *not letting this go*

In my rank of the album, it's 8th. I can't really add anything new to the list of reasons why I don't enjoy it as much as other tracks, I realise it has all the ingredients to be perfect, but something just came out not quite right.

I voted Frozen, magical as it is.

Nah, as much as 'Ray of Light' would be the #1 for me, this is a really great set of results; probably the best I've ever seen for a Buzzjack survivor game.
