I just can't get enough of the combination of that incredible production (or #paellaprodux as Leww would say) with those confident vocals that just work so well alongside. In hindsight 'Matadora' should've got more from me as well! 15 Terra Avium | Hiatus - Precious Little Now for more of a staple of my high points, Terra Avium! Oh my gosh Chez this is just breathtaking. I get goosebumps every time from that gorgeous combination of piano and strings. I can't believe I passed up on this as a potential (but then again I passed up on a winner too so what do I know). Anyway, you are so good at hitting me emotionally with your entries! With the likes of 'I've Been Secretly Falling Apart', 'Miracles' and now this! This probably would've got 18 most other months but this month my 18 was extremely obvious from the get go. Still, a silver position is amazing so yay! Absolutely stunning entry. 18 Aeroche | Polyna - Angel (Club Mix) Oh my god you would not believe my excitement when I discovered that you had sent this song this month. After you unleashing it on plug.dj last year and me falling in love with it, this moment has finally happened a year later! This could just not go to anything else. This song is so extremely thrilling for me, the way it builds up and then suddenly the utter euphoria of the chorus hits me out of nowhere. Nicky Romero really did well with this. I just remember you showing me this song just before hard times were about to hit (as you actually offered it to me as I couldn't be there to confirm for bjsc 77 on time and had nothing else besides Koven) so it was nice that this was one of the main songs I attribute with getting through said hard times. So yes, have this juicy 18 LewwLeww! This final had higher viewing figures than expected despite slightly lacklustre reaction to the semi-finals and our own non-qualification ;o Commiserations go to Botanikka (who we hope can still slay on our behalf nonetheless #middleeasternbloc) and Ultraviolenceland who sadly just missed out on points. Our top marks go once again to the big standout and ~unique~ dance entry of the month, so far this year we've had an anime hard trance remix, an ominous chanting psytrance remix and an oldskool rave jam so the logical next step was an Australian Aboriginal Yolngu language political protest song dance remix. Of course. Singerpurear going well outside of the box and providing another wonderful and unique entry, which sees them top the Persephonian televote for the first time. Some love also to two other archival picks in the final, as Land of DW continued Botanikka's 90s trance legacy and pick up 11 points while a point also goes to Tartford with Alex Gaudino's debut single, surprising it wasn't a big hit in the UK so nice to discover it now! And we also throw our support behind three other foreign language tracks: the bae language of Spanish represented by both our 13 pointer Desbuanda (#paellaprodux) and our 10 pointer Trifoski (#frittatafierceness), while Vülkyria pick up 7 points with their Ndebele/Zulu track, giving us strong 'Sunchyme' / Lion King / 'Baba Yetu' dance-ified vibes making it one of their best entries to date. N DNTN's witch house beaut / doorstopper anthem gets the silver prize of 15 points, Harmonica finally get some more points from us, getting 12 points for their slice of glorious distortion, tennis court anthems from Pupok and Beaverdonia get 9 and 6 points, Séyetana stand out from the crowd once again with bagpipe rock *.* earning them 8 points, a big grower from Syndare earns 5 points, Jadakissnia provide the glorious synths once again and get 4 points, Yehesi's autoqualifier and certified bop gives them points for the third time this year, 3 of them this time, and finally we just had to award a couple of points to the ~experience~ that is our fellow Year 7 orchestra friends Ethanola. A bit of a mess but in all the right ways.
