Biography

Singer Mike Posner launched his career at Duke University, where he balanced his undergraduate studies in sociology and business with his musical habits. Like fellow undergrad Asher Roth, Posner began making melodic pop-rap songs for the college crowd, filling his music with references to fraternity culture, dorm life, and young adulthood. He also compiled several mixtapes, one of which -- A Matter of Time -- topped the digital charts during the summer of 2009. After signing with J Records, he finished his degree, graduated with a 3.59 GPA, and released his full-length debut, 31 Minutes to Takeoff, in the summer of 2010. The album featured the worldwide hit "Cooler Than Me," and reached the Top Ten in the U.S. J Records dissolved soon after, and Posner moved to its parent label, RCA, but only after some legal wrangling, which was referenced in the title to his 2011 mixtape The Layover. His career with RCA officially began late that same year with the December release of "Looks Like Sex." Two more singles, "The Way It Used to Be" and "Top of the World" (featuring Big Sean), followed in 2013 as preludes to his second official album, Pages. The EP The Truth followed in 2015 and featured the hit "I Took a Pill in Ibiza." Biography

Los Angeles-based producer gnash (born Garrett Charles Nash) combined the emotional vulnerability of Bright Eyes with the sounds of laptop alt-R&B similar to the Weeknd's early releases. gnash got his start as a DJ and then as one part of duo Gemineyes with Harry Hudson. In 2014, his reimagining of the O.T. Genasis track "CoCo" garnered attention from blogs, which led to a string of digital singles released in 2015. His debut EP, U, was released in March of the same year. A mellow, laid-back affair, U employed gnash's rapping over woozy atmospherics which brought to mind Drake and Troye Sivan. One year later, he released his second EP, the seven-song us. gnash described the emotive, downtempo us as his personal sonic journey through life's ups and downs -- breakups, self-discovery, searching for new experiences -- that ultimately leads to loving one's self. Biography

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986), known professionally as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several independent mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake's EP, So Far Gone (2009), spawned the singles "Best I Ever Had", "Successful", and "I'm Goin' In", all peaking in the top ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the singles "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", "Fancy", It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second album, Take Care (2011), is his most successful to date, topping charts in the United States and Canada and producing the singles "Take Care", "Headlines" and "The Motto", the last of which is also credited for popularizing the widely used acronym YOLO. In promotion of his second album, Drake embarked on the international Club Paradise Tour, which became the most successful hip-hop tour of 2012, grossing over $42 million. It went on to represent his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. His third studio album, Nothing Was the Same (2013), achieved commercial success and was supported by the singles "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home". In 2015, Drake debuted two mixtapes, If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive., with the former being certified double platinum. His fourth studio album, Views, was released in 2016 and supported with the singles, "Hotline Bling", "One Dance", and "Pop Style". Drake is known for his soft melody and emotional lyrics. Most of his songs contain R&B and Canadian hip hop elements, and he combines rapping with singing. His work has earned him a Grammy Award, three Juno Awards, six BET Awards, and set several significant Billboard charts records. Drake has the most number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart with 12 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 14. He is one of two artists (the other being 50 Cent) to have simultaneously occupied the top three positions on both charts. All of Drake's commercial albums and mixtapes are certified diamond in Canada. He along with producer Noah "40" Shebib formed a record label named OVO Sound in early 2012. He produces records under the pseudonym Champagne Papi. Drake is a member of the Forbes Five, which ranks Hip Hop's Wealthiest Artists; listed fifth, he follows rappers Birdman, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Diddy. Is there a remix of the gnash song that makes it a little less dull?
Too Good is really too good for the chart. In all seriousness, I'm still loving this unbelievable relevance of Drake.

Biography

Clean Bandit are an English electronic group founded in Cambridge, England, in 2009. The group consists of Jack Patterson, Luke Patterson, Grace Chatto, and Milan Neil Amin-Smith.

 

Their 2010 single "Mozart's House", released on Black Butter Records, reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. In January 2014, they scored their first UK Singles Chart-topping single with "Rather Be", a collaboration with Jess Glynne, featuring elements of both classical and dance music. "Rather Be" remained at the top of the chart for four weeks. In 2014, they achieved their first US top 10 single with "Rather Be" peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
