June 7, 20169 yr I must say I really admire the passion and ideas in this AF right now! I shall get round to doing this soon.
June 7, 20169 yr Posting again with commentary... 10. Till The World Ends - Absolutely love this track. Should have been the lead single. Great video too, very 'Slave 4 U'. 09. Hold It Against Me - Another dance banger, I adored this song when it was first released, but my love for it soon faded, although I still enjoy listening to it. The video has some great moments, but overall I think Britney looks uncomfortable and its my least favourite video from her lead singles. 09. Inside Out - What a jam. Her vocal are on point and I love all the references to her old songs like 'Crazy' and 'Baby One More Time'. 10. I Wanna Go - Great choice of 3rd single from Britney, although it bombed in the UK strangely. Sounds great in the car with the windows down. Oh and I LOVE the video! 08. How I Roll - Rapney! I swear she says 'You can be my F**k tonight' or is that just me? This or 'Inside Out' should have been single #4. 07. (Drop Dead) Beautiful [Ft. Sabi] - Loved this for about two years, played it everyday in the car until 'Work Bitch' came out and now it's not really a song I listen to. That vegetables line tho. I heard this was a Chris Brown reject? 07. Seal It With A Kiss - This is the boyfriends favourite track from FF. Sounds really Summery and I can imagine if this had been released as a single, Britney would have been really sweaty with a drink round the pool. B-) 07. Big Fat Bass [Ft. Will.I.Am.] - Despite the auto-tune (although not as bad as BJ) it's a great track. It probably would have smashed as single in the UK. The video would have been HUGE. 08. Trouble For Me - Basically Meghan Trainor has covered this and her version is far inferior to Britney's. I love the tune and Britney sounds really sexy, despite the auto-tune. 07. Trip To Your Heart - Looking past the auto-tune, this is a really cool track, a very spacey vibe. I like how she reads out all the parts of the body she's gonna take a trip to - including someone's balls?  10. Gasoline - I ABSOLUTELY love this song. It's basically Toxic Pt 2 for me and one of my favourite album tracks from Britney. It's definitely one of the tracks that if it comes on in the car it immediately gets put on repeat. 07. Criminal - Didn't get the love for this song at first, but something just clicked when I was listening to this song on holiday in Greece. The video was AMAZING of course as it was filmed in my home town of London. Flopped horribly in the UK but the album had been out over 6 months when this was released and she didn't even perform it on the FF tour. 08. Up n' Down - Another great track, would have made a great single in the US. I love her raspy vocals on this track. 07. He About To Lose Me - I believe this was Kylie's favourite track off FF and I can see why she likes it. Kinda overshadowed by Katy Perry's similar sounding track (Part Of Me, which wasn't very good although got to #1 in the UK.) Brit's vocals are on point tho. 07. Selfish - Never been a massive fan of this one, although I enjoy it more now that I did in 2011. The 'shellfish' GIF always gets me, so I always smile when this song comes on. 05. Don't Keep Me Waiting - My least favourite FF track. Really wouldn't have minded if this had been taken off and replaced with 'Scary'. Its quite different to her usual style and a bit rocky, so maybe that's why I don't enjoy it much?

June 7, 20169 yr Author Added! If anyone forgets to come back and rate it, I will just give it its average score for that set. Cheers for catching that! ❤️
June 7, 20169 yr 08 Scary - Prefer this to DKMW, it's very poppy, a bit disco. Reminds me a bit of Cascada? :D It's a shame it's not available anywhere in the UK, but I guess it will be another of those tracks the GP don't know about like Pretty Girls. :kink:
June 7, 20169 yr 9.0 Scary I can't believe this wasn't on the standard edition but it seems like the best songs are always bonus tracks  I absolutely love the second half of the chorus were her vocals are altered and sped up!

June 11, 20169 yr Author Not TTYH getting an 11. Though I admit it has majorly grown on me. I have gone from detesting it to probably rating it a 7/10.
June 14, 20169 yr This is actually my second EVER listen to this album :o first time since 2011 :drama: so these will almost be like first impressions to me, for the non-singles! 10.0 Till The World Ends This still just grows and grows on me strangely! It's such a huge banger and it ends up stuck in my head now. "Keep on dancing till the world ends" is my fave part. 11.0 Hold It Against Me I remember when this got released almost OA/OS in the UK, it was pretty much unheard of at the time it seemed and it was all over the entertainment news from what I recall! Felt a real sense of excitement about it. I remember downloading it on iTunes too, pretty great memories of this song  That's what gets it the 11 over Till The World Ends, which I normally find quite hard to separate from this! 10.0 Inside Out omg YES I am absolutely loving this, I don't remember it at all but that chorus is really great!! Think I'll be revisiting this a bit. 09.5 I Wanna Go I love the pure joy of this song, the whistling is addictive and not irritating like it can be in many other tracks (looking at you, Maroon 5). Plus I will forever think of this iconic performance now. If radio got on board with this in the UK, I have no doubt that it would've been a huge smash, incredibly infectious and the UK public seem to love a song with whistling  05.0 How I Roll Not enjoying this as much as I'd like on first listen, it's got parts I enjoy like the "bum bum bum ba da dee" etc. parts but the male sounding voice is a big no-no, feels a little bit tacky :( 09.0 (Drop Dead) Beautiful [Ft. Sabi] Loving this chorus, I imagine it would sound incredible in a club setting too! Think this could've made quite a good single actually, surely would've at least charted top 200 in the UK unlike Criminal :drama: Sabi's part compliments the rest perfectly too I think. 08.5 Seal It With A Kiss Another strong chorus, although unlike the previous track, I think I'm glad this one remained an album track because I don't think it could've done any better than what we got. It's a very solid album track though, starting to wonder why I never revisited this album after my first listen :( 08.0 Big Fat Bass [Ft. Will.I.Am.] I think this one may end up as a grower? It's fun and I like it a fair amount but compared to the two before it, in fact, I'm not really sure if I can compare it, they're very different lol. I do like will.i.am normally though and his rap is just as shit as usual and therefore iconic *_* Apparently this was used during S Club 7's comeback tour while they changed between songs at one point  Pity I wasn't able to recognise it at the time lol. Having said all that, I ended up bumping it up from 7 to 8 by the end because it will be the album track I remember the most I'm sure, so job done I guess? 07.0 Trouble For Me Solid album track, it's pretty good, but probably my 2nd least favourite so far. The intro music reminds me slightly of Meghan Trainor's Me Too  09.0 Trip To Your Heart Liking this one a lot, feels like a nice change of pace after all the bangers we've had so far, but still in-keeping with the dance-pop sound rather than a casual piano ballad in the middle or something haha. A track I'll be returning to a lot I'm sure! 08.5 Gasoline I wasn't too sure at first but I was positively bopping to that chorus by the end *.* 09.0 Criminal I feel like this song gets a bit of a hard time in singles rates, it's always been one that stood out from this album for me, sure it's not one of her best ever but amongst her other singles, it stands out in a good way. Her vocals are pretty solid on it too. However, it's not one I've gone back to much recently, and in terms of the flow of the album, it does stick out quite a bit, so it doesn't get the 10 it would've had a while ago. 07.0 Up n' Down I'm very familiar with this intro purely because of it always starting once I've listened to Criminal  The song isn't bad but I think other songs do this kinda thing better on the album for me. 06.0 He About To Lose Me I prefer the verses to the chorus in this one, the verses feel like they're leading to a much better chorus. Assuming it's not her singing that part either because it sounds nothing like her although I could be wrong! :heehee: 09.0 Selfish Really liking this, best bonus track of them all for me. Incredibly infectious chorus and solid production, think it should've been on the standard instead of something like Trouble For Me which is more average. 07.5 Don't Keep Me Waiting Quite enjoying this and I like the fact it's something slightly different and less dancey than the rest of the album but it's not left a massive mark on me other than "enjoyable". 08.0 Scary First ever listen for this one! Definitely think it was worthy of at least international deluxe status instead of any of the above four bar Selfish. Pretty great song! Sorry the comments aren't that perceptive throughout, maybe it'd be better if I were more familiar with it all :heehee: It will not be 5 years until my next listen though I can assure you!!! Really enjoyed the entire album, just further emphasises that I need to spend time getting familiar with all of her albums.
June 14, 20169 yr Author Love your review! You inspired me to have it bopping at work. Lmfao. Yay for you loving "Inside Out"! It should have been the fourth single! 'Selfish' is also my favorite bonus track! Everything about it is glorious. Also, "He About To Lose Me" will definitely grow on you... "How I Roll", after another listen or two you will either love it or hate it, that seems to be how it goes. Such a fantastic album. I almost see it as the yang to 'Blackout'. 'Femme Fatale' being the lighter/joyful and more flirtatious side of Britney, while 'Blackout' is the dark, mysterious, "f*** me in the bathroom and buy me a drink", side of Britney.

Same for most of the album tbh, I enjoyed it a lot  I'm so shit with Britney albums lmao, I've only heard the debut and the most recent two recently. Never heard Blackout or Circus. Really need to devote time to hearing everything properly :drama: From what I can tell it really does seem like the anti-Blackout though, the singles alone really give it away if you compare both sets :heehee:
June 14, 20169 yr 06.0 He About To Lose Me I prefer the verses to the chorus in this one, the verses feel like they're leading to a much better chorus. Assuming it's not her singing that part either because it sounds nothing like her although I could be wrong! :heehee: So with you on this! I absolutely love the verses, but the chorus is such a letdown. Still one of my favourites from the album, but just a shame the chorus is so weak compared to the verses. And you need to check out Blackout and Circus for suuuure
June 14, 20169 yr Author Yes! You need 'Blackout' in your life! 'Circus' is filled with bops as well. Just know that every Britney album is glorious in its own way except Britney Jean
June 14, 20169 yr 10.0 | Till The World Ends Absolutely adored this from the very first listen. The “woah-oh-oh” is so infectious, can’t stop listening. The remix with Kesha and Nicki is hilarious, and I loved that she shut all the haters up by releasing the “dance” video. 09.0 | Hold It Against Me I originally loved this when it first came out, but I think that might have been my hyping myself over it. I still really enjoy listening to this but I find myself enjoying the video more than the actual song. Still a solid lead single though and it was criminal (see what I did there ;)) to see it only get to #6 in the UK. The dubstep middle 8 is life though. 10.0 | Inside Out This is the one I think I heard first because of the video that went around with part of the instrumental a few months before the album came out. It really intrigued me as it sounded like NOTHING Britney had ever done, even different to anything from Blackout imo. Probably in my top 3 of the album! 11.0 | I Wanna Go This SCREAMED single when I first heard it, and I’m glad Britney thought the same. It’s a huge shame that she didn’t promote it properly in the UK; I think it would have done a hell of a lot better had she done a live performance somewhere. This is by far the best song on the album for me, uplifting and so much fun. Plus the video is hilarious (those whistling dogs!!!!!!). 07.0 | How I Roll I still don't know what to think about this one. I like it, don't get me wrong, but it feels like there is something missing. Maybe it's the blokes voice, kinda annoys me! I still laugh though because it sounds like she's saying "where my pussy's at". 04.5 | (Drop Dead) Beautiful (feat. Sabi) This is, in my opinion, the first "weak" song on the album. I'm not going to sit here and stan the entire album because it definitely has it's low points. Compared to the earlier songs it's just not as good, plain and simple. I also don't know who Sabi is and what they are doing with their life since featuring on this. 06.5 | Seal It With A Kiss The mini dubstep breakdown saves this for me, it's pretty plain really, which is a shame because I think it could be so much better. I guess it stands out though because of the poorness of the song before and the song afterwards. 01.0 | Big Fat Bass (feat. will.i.am) This is by far the worst song on the album. It's absolutely horrid and I really don't know what either Britney or will.i.am were thinking even recording this. Her vocals are so over-processed she doesn't sound real, and for what it's worth, I've had bigger, fatter bass for tea on a Friday night. 10.0 | Trouble For Me This hit me hard from the first listen, absolutely love it so much. The instrumental is to die for, and it would have been a challenger for my 11 but the chorus lets it down ever so slightly for me. Still a phenomenal track and, away from the bonus tracks, is the best album track on the CD. Reminds me of a car revving it's engine! 09.5 | Trip To Your Heart Now we come to the first "ballad" of the album, and it's freaking amazing. Whenever I listen to it I feel like I'm floating in the sky, so dreamy. ^_^ It's so different from the rest of the album and that's why it stands out. I actually thought this was what she sang on her Billboard megamix but I was getting mixed up with "Touch Of My Hand". The instrumental at the start is channelling COADF as well, which is only a good thing. 09.0 | Gasoline The "spiritual" successor to Toxic. For the first 6 months of the album being out this was probably my 11, but it's slowly losing out to some of the others. Maybe if it was a single I'd still love it. Still a really good album track and it continues a string of really good songs after BFB. 07.5 | Criminal I've really fallen out of love with this the more I listen to it. I thought this was truly epic when I first heard it as well. :( Compared to most of the other songs on the album this hasn't really aged well imo and the windpipes sound quite clunky now that I'm reminded of them. 09.5 | Up N Down This should really have been on the album instead of Big Fat Bass, and then should have been made a single instead of Criminal. Such a funky tune and incredibly strong for a bonus track. Whoever's idea that was needs firing!! I know I noted her robotic voice earlier but it works really well on this song. 10.0 | He About To Lose Me If only I Wanna Go wasn't on the album, this would get my 11. I love this so much and it is a clear highlight for me. I don't even care that it's not all her voice in the chorus, it's just makes me so emotional listening to it. The instrumental is amazing, the lyrics are amazing, everything about it is amazing. I'm worried it's going to do badly here though which would be so upsetting. :( 06.5 | Selfish Only the second or third time listening to Selfish and I kinda like it. It's not as good as either UnD or HATLM and I can understand why it's a bonus track and not on the standard album. I don't really have anything else to say though, it's just....there? 08.0 | Don't Keep Me Waiting This is a weird one. On one hand, I really like this and would have loved to see it on the album, but on the other I can totally understand the fact it sounds nothing like anything else on the album and would have sounded quite out of place on the standard album. Still, a different side of Britney on this album and it's definitely a good one. 08.5 | Scary This is the first time I've heard this as I've never got around to listening. This is very unexpected, for some reason I full expected this to be a really sombre ballad. You should have seen my face when this started!. Lucky Japanese getting this to themselves is all I can say. :P Edited June 14, 20169 yr by Oliver
June 14, 20169 yr Author Another great commentary! Really showing how strong the album is to even non stans. I really love 'Big Fat Bass'. I remember when the album dropped and hearing it in the club before the album was even released. It instantly reminds me of being 21, care free and just dancing like an idiot with a group of the most amazing drag queens. Agh, I live for those Britney blaring in the gay club moments. Ps- did you want to keep your score for 'Trouble For Me' at a ten? Your commentary suggests maybe a 9 or 9.5?
