Biography

Bastille (stylised as BΔSTILLE) are an English indie rock band formed in 2010. They began as a solo project by singer Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The four-piece is completed by Chris "Woody" Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. They recently added a touring member to the band, Charlie Barnes. The name of the band derives from Bastille Day, which is celebrated on 14 July, Smith's birthday.

 

After an independently released debut single and a self-released EP, the band signed to Virgin Records. Their first studio album, Bad Blood, was released in March 2013 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one. The band was nominated for four Brit Awards at the 2014 ceremony, winning the British Breakthrough Act. Is this the first studio Bastille track to have guitar on it? Their entire last album was devoid of it, if my memory of the linear notes serves me correctly.

Not to worry UV, I think "Into You" still has room to grow and climb even more, though u do think the extra play would have been nice to garner more sales.

 

Not heard "Good Grief" yet but I've heard so much praise for it so might give it a try soon

Hymn For The Weekend's longevity has really surprised me, I can't believe it's still top 40 on iTunes. Shame to see P!nk and OneRepublic already descending the top 40, I've still yet to hear 'Wherever I Go' in full.

 

Glad to FINALLY have Bastille back, it's been far too long but hopefully worth the wait!

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986), known professionally as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several independent mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake's EP, So Far Gone (2009), spawned the singles "Best I Ever Had", "Successful", and "I'm Goin' In", all peaking in the top ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the singles "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", "Fancy", It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
