August 17, 20168 yr Another clean sweep for the US on floor exercises :cheer:Â Seriously I stan for them so hard. Simone was fantastic as always and she puts so much energy and flavor into her routine that the judges are captivated by her movements, and her technique is pretty flawless (even if she did fall out of her wolf turn). And I can't even begin to describe Aly's journey: from missing the medals in London to rebuilding her energy (with Mark Ballas by her side for a quarter of a year) and she's winning medals left and right. I'm so proud of them and so proud of the entire women's gymnastics team
August 17, 20168 yr Third time lucky, awesome race, Jason Kenny for Sports Personality of the year :cheer: If it's not Mo Farah I will riot.
August 17, 20168 yr It's going to be HOTLY contested this year. Andy Murray surely has an excellent chance again, double Olympic champion, double Wimbledon champion, finally reaching the final of all 4 grand slams, potential to do very well in/win the Davis Cup again and he's probably going to do better in the US Open than he has done in years too. But then, they do like CHANGE.
August 17, 20168 yr Author Someone from my uni won bronze in the men's 800m on Monday for the US, and someone else from my uni finished 10th in the men's pole vault for Canada (also on Monday). They've never had an athlete make the Olympics before and this year they get two representing two different countries :o Clayton Murphy and Shawnacy Barber. There were the two. For the 10 for Sports Personality of the Year. It would be for me: Adam Peaty Andy Murray Chris Froome Danny Willett Gareth Bale Jason Kenny Laura Trott Max Whitlock Mo Farah Nicola Adams (if she wins Gold)
August 17, 20168 yr I know they didn't want the Olympic cycling to end, but TWO false starts isn't how you solve that

August 17, 20168 yr The celebrations of the Kenyan who won the steeplechase - that's how I want everyone to celebrate a clear lead before they've even finished - still getting an Olympic record too.Â
August 18, 20168 yr There's an Irishman in the 400m hurdles final today at 4pm!!! Thomas Barr ran the race of his life yesterday and won his semi-final. So excited - really hope I can watch the final live at work. :arrr:
August 18, 20168 yr Author I think we may see something special, in the men's 200m final with Usain Bolt who looked very comfortable in 19.79 in the semis. Gatlin is out. Funniest moment of the Games- The Haitian falling over at the first hurdle. Â
August 18, 20168 yr Funniest moment of the Games- The Haitian falling over at the first hurdle. Ha. At least he was able to finish and got an ovation, which is what made it pretty good. Have seen that Finland have managed to keep their streak by getting a bronze in women's boxing *.* (apparently beating Katie Taylor too)
August 18, 20168 yr There's an Irishman in the 400m hurdles final today at 4pm!!! Thomas Barr ran the race of his life yesterday and won his semi-final. So excited - really hope I can watch the final live at work. :arrr: 4th.  0.05s from bronze. :'''''''''''''''(
August 18, 20168 yr Does anyone think Usain Bolt's world record of 9.58 in the 100 m will ever be broken?
August 19, 20168 yr Of course it will, it might stand for a long time, but it will be broken eventually.
August 19, 20168 yr Author If Van Niekirk went for the 200m as well as 400m then Bolt's world record could be under threat. It will be a long time til we see Bolt's 100m world record broken it would require a very special performance for that to happen.  It will be a while til we see the likes of Bolt + Phelps again. Bad news regarding the cuts for the Paralympics. Â
August 19, 20168 yr Author A age difference of 43 years between the oldest gold medallist, Nick Skelton and 15 the Chinese diver. A show of perverse from Nick Skelton at his 7th Olympics whose first was 1984. In a six-way jumpoff. Great atmosphere in the BMX, thrilling stuff there. Â
August 19, 20168 yr Another Gold for GB in the women's Hockey against world champions The Netherlands! Went right down to penalties as well, I really wasn't expecting that, brilliant stuff (still not expecting to be beat China overall though). Fantastic to hear about Nick Skelton, not even just because he's GB, because it's incredible someone nearing 60 can still win a gold medal.
August 19, 20168 yr Nick Skelton winning is definitely my (team GB) medal of the games. Watching him on the podium really trying to fight back the tears was such a genuine, wonderful moment.
August 19, 20168 yr Also well done to the lesbians on managing to work together as a team to win gold in the lesbian hockey.
