Centrists are part of the problem. They are a PERFORMANCE. THEY. DO. NOT. HELP. Look at shitty Biden and how the centrists sabotaged BERNIE AND CORBYN, AND PREFERRED THE HARD RIGHT IN OVER HELPING PEOPLE!! With "friends" like these, who needs enemies?? Also, reminder that Corbyn, even in 2019, got far more votes than any of your shitty centrists oops x

Maybe if your friends stopped slagging off people who are basically supporters of workers rights (but disagree on how you achieve that) and other rights, and concentrated on slagging off those destroying those rights then people would take them seriously. Cos theyve had 2 huge chances to take a lefty Labour Party to power in the 80s and teenies and they failed. People moved to the right every time to STOP THEM. Possibly something to do with constantly slagging off allies and alienating the electorate who held similar centrist views. The concept of Maths clearly not a thing. Oh and demanding we leave the EU RIGHT NOW TRIGGER THAT ARTICLE after a knife-edge vote that they chose to give a lacklustre support for the Labour Party Remain policy, and reaffirmed their true colours within hours, despite even the nuttiest of Tories knowing that was lunacy.

Just saying.

Except it is you extreme CENTRISTS attacking the left and sabotaging us, all th3 while providing NOTHING. We do not slag you off. All we do is note how unbelievably SHITE and flimsy your policies are, and how centrist politics is just perfoemance politics. It upsets the centrists when we shout, "it's an act!", just like it would upset actors at a pantomime if we did the same there, and so rhey go on the attack. The centrist HAS to sabotage and play down the left, as the second the left gets power to effect real change, the centrists will be exposed for their uselessness, incompetence, and, ultimately, for their performance.

Crikey, so it's all my fault for working for Local Government and joining a union that finances the Labour Party with my fees, and going on strike when called to, and supporting social policies, and it's nothing to do with you and your hopelessly negative and critical attitude towards people who have the same aims but aren't as gobby and see reality for what it is if you want to get elected.

I have wasted my entire life!!!! If only I'd seen the light and worshipped Saint Jeremy all would be right with the world! Oh, that's right, he's about to stand for election as an independent against the Labour Party candidate. It must be the start of the revolution!

You say people move to the right... Ho hmm. I suppose that is why the fascist Blojo Tories moved msssively to the left economically, yes?? Why we have the most economically left Tory government in decades?? Why the Tories were PETRFIEID of Corbyn and held PACKED OUT meetings on why the left was winning the economic debate, yes?? Why the fash had the entire state and media demonise snd attack Corbyn, yes?? And I suppose that's why people came FLOODING to support Starmer and his centrist policies, yes, and why they say they think he is strong and credible, yes?? It's not like people laughed at Labour centrists and called Starmer useless and only switched to Labour due to MASSIVE fash Tory corruption...

The Daily Telegraph are reporting this evening that three Tory MPs are in negotiations to defect to the Labour Party, joining Christian Wakeford, who defected earlier this year. If this is true, and leads to more MPs leaving the ship, then the talks of an early General Election could be more than pie in the sky.
It's a DISGRACE that Labour would ever accept those hard right nutjob neoliberals. THIS IS A PARTY FOE THE PEOPLE ANS BY THE PEOPLE, NOT FOE THE ELITE AND THEIR CAP DOFFEES!!!
Caroline Noakes and Dehenna Davidson (2 of the ones rumoured) are pretty good for Toires. Very strong on LGBT rights. Noakes is also a Remainer and has been very critical of Johnson.

The (paywalled) story says that the 3 in question are all male, but if those 3 go it could lead to others jumping ship.

A couple days ago there were reported to be six. Three sounds more plausible.

They are probably better described as the old Labour right!

Re: Local Gov. Yes, they should join a Union but most people just see a weak union and losing weekly fees so it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. We, as a Union, voted not to strike for more money because we know perfectly well after Covid debts there was zero chance of getting anything much. I can assure you that the majority of those not in the union are even less "militant" to coin a phrase beloved of Dom Raab (ie anyone having the temerity to lose a days pay to demonstrate they are getting worse off each year). So what happens instead is people leave Local Gov and they waste more money spending on the private sector to cover jobs they cant fill. Insanity. I'm totally in favour of striking in principle and unions are essential in a healthy democracy. Thats why I'm still a member after 30-odd years, and a Union Rep, for what it's worth - and I'm always very quick to slag shitty decisions by those in control off to the Union and to the Council itself. I'm near retirement so I dont give a toss what I say to anyone in power, I've got nothing to lose (see your comment about admiring people who tell it like it is) and I'm happy to put it in writing. I've seen it all before and I'm very quick to take the piss and say "I told you so" when it goes tits up and they do a U turn after wasting money. The bozos elected in our Council always think they are inventing something new and exciting to save money, and it invariably turns out to to be the same old disasters previous Tories have made.

But that doesn't stop members of the public getting pissed off at being inconvenienced, and it plays into the hands of the right-wing press who always go straight for the sob stories of the poor people having to cancel stag parties or get the bus to work thanks to these "militant loons". Boo hoo hoo! It's a balance between what you gain and what you lose by going on strike. Being right doesn't mean you win, sometimes you do sometimes you dont. As the Miners found out. Everyone lost. Union laws were massively weakened. Coal mines were closed to end their power forever. Ironically, now we don't want them Bozo is talking about opening one. You couldnt make it up.....

I'm a local government worker and coming out of the union was the first and easiest thing to do when thinking about how to cut costs after that vote. I voted to strike but it was only something like 30% of members even bothered to vote at all. It seems like a complete waste of cash being a member, got the same £300 payrise as colleagues not in a union but I gave £265 back to them. A lot of teams at my Council have had posts downgraded and apart from some advice, often contradictory, there's been no impact from the unions at all.

Diane Abbott's put her foot in it tonight. Speaking on the BBC's Broadcasting House she said that "Boris likes assaulting women" Libelous if he wants to sue.

He won't. Why would he risk seeing loads of women come to court willing to testify that Abbott's statement is, at the very least, a justifiable opinion?

Didn't Amber Rudd once say no sane woman would share a late night cab from the pub with Boris? Think it was her.

Lots of rumours and false leaks coming out about the Durham Police decision re: Starmer. But apparently still under discussion. Some are saying that Johnson will take advantage of him being fined and resigning to throw a General Election whilst Labour are arguing with itself.. I'm not sure that would work out well.

I hope he does just that. Even if Starmer goes, Labour shouldn't have too difficult of a time at least regaining a number of seats if there was a general election later this year.

And Starmer and Rayner are cleared of 'Beergate'. Not going to lie, feel a twinge of disappointment that Starmer's going to face the next General Election rather than someone like Burnham (who could have been parachuted in at very short notice in the resulting by election). And those pics in Durham did look a bit dodgy and the overall hush hush even if technically it was legal.

Although glad the Daily Mail got egg on their face as they were hysterical about it so that's one win!
