Not a hit of course but any opportunity to wheel out the mashup I made with the help of now departed (to Digital Spy so I've noticed) Hitstastic, which melds together the Grange Hill 90s theme tune with Flo Rida's Club Can't Handle Me. It's the bootleg every club was after in my dreams.

AMAZING Grange Hill mix - although a little distorted.

Actually Hitstastic's best was prob the Girls Aloud v Liquid Child mash-up..

Freemasons and Amanda Wilson Love on My Mind combines This Time Baby by Jackie Moore and When The Heartache is Over by Tina Turner for the lyrics sung by Amanda Wilson.

Also from 2005 In My Arms by Mylo a mashup of Betty Davis Eyes for the music and Waiting For A Star To Fall for the lyrics, And from 2006 Supermode - Tell Me Why a mashup of 2 Bronski Beat songs.

Phat Beach (I'll Be Ready) in 2006 was a mashup between a Leftfield tune and the Baywatch theme tune.

If you've never heard of Norwegian Recycling, you should really check them out, their mashups were exceptionally well put together!

This is probably my favourite one, it basically mashes up the following songs into a 4 and a half minute song:

Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love

Savage Garden - Crash And Burn

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved

James Blunt - You're Beautiful

Atomic Kitten - It's OK

U2 - With Or Without You

Billie The Vision & The Dancers - Summercat

Remy Zero - Fair

I want to share this;

It's in fact my very own attempt at making a mash-up some years ago when I discovered similar sounding songs and decided to play them over each other.

This was the result, albeit, an incomplete one.

Call on Me has reminded me how easy it would be to mash up looped house tracks eg. Philip George Wish You Were Mine could easily be mashed up with Freeloaders So Much Love To Give it even has similar synths in the middle. A mashup between Disclosure - Boss and Tom Novy -Your Body would work very well too and Kove and Melissa Steel - Way We Are and Stonebridge and Therese - Put Em High too (the singers sound similar)

Btw I remember hearing that Sugababes Right Round was created as a mashup between two tracks that were supposed to be original. I wonder were Girls Aloud Biology and Gabriella Cilmi Sweet About Me - The verses seem like different songs to the chorus in these two. Anyway these are three great songs imo and it worksthe difference between chorus and verses.

Some mashups that I listened to a lot some years ago:

Enya vs Prodigy - Smack My Orinoco Flow (Link - I loved this back in 2007)

NIN vs 50 Cent - Closer In Da Club (Link - By far my favorite mashup of all time! Amazing how these incredibly different songs mash up so perfectly)

Nirvana vs Timbaland - Smells Like Morning After Dark (

- I loved this in 2010)

Do You Know (I Go Crazy) by Angel City, sampled the "Children" by Robert Miles, as well as the lyrics from "Do You Know" by Michelle Gayle (UK #8)

Take me to the clouds above, by LMC vs. U2, sampled 'With or Without You' by U2, with lyrics from Whitney Houston "How Will I know" (UK #1)

If we're including Youtube mashups then
wins everything.

Surprised Sugababes - Freak Like Me hasn't been mentioned - it is a cover of a mash-up of Tubeway Army's Are Friends Electric and Adina Howard's Freak Like Me.

Also Chicane ft Natasha Bedingfield - Bruised Water mixes I Bruise Easily and Saltwater.

If someone's up to another mash up challenge, I've discovered 2 similar sounding songs after hearing Britney's latest single.

Britney Spears feat. G-Eazy – Make Me

Nicki Minaj feat. Rihanna – Fly

Mainly the chorus, but I can imagine it sounding quite good. :)
