July 15, 201610 yr Love Don't Let Me Down!!!! 14 weeks at #1 for One Dance is crazy!!!! The Chainsmokers are the likely challenger for #1 next week at this stage. Doubt Britney or Katy will be far from it, I think. Edited July 15, 201610 yr by buzz_person
July 15, 201610 yr Quite a fantastic achievement for The Chainsmokers to be #1 on the non-Drake chart! Re-loving DLMD atm  However the King has certainly let a lot of people down but his reign must continue for at least another week.

July 15, 201610 yr Not Drake once again. Urgh. Surely it must be his last week at the top on sales which must be barely 45k.
July 15, 201610 yr Yes, next weeks chart thread will be full of OPTIMISM (Major Lazer releasing which will surely give us the burden of next weeks number one and Drake potentially being dethroned), POSITIVITY (loads of high new entries), and general HAPPINESS (the fantastic Don't Let Me Down potentially getting to the top). Looking forward to it.

Born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, she performed acting roles in stage productions and television shows as a child before signing with Jive Records in 1997. Spears's first and second studio albums, ...Baby One More Time (1999) and Oops!... I Did It Again (2000), became international successes, with the former becoming the best-selling album by a teenage solo artist. Title tracks "...Baby One More Time" and "Oops!... I Did It Again" broke international sales records. In 2001, Spears released her self-titled third studio album, Britney, and played the starring role in the film Crossroads (2002). She assumed creative control of her fourth studio album, In the Zone (2003), which yielded the worldwide success of the "Toxic" single. In 2007, Spears's much-publicized personal issues sent her career into hiatus. Her fifth studio album, Blackout, was released later that year, and spawned singles such as "Gimme More" and "Piece of Me". Her erratic behavior and hospitalizations continued through the following year, at which point she was placed under a still ongoing conservatorship. Spears's sixth studio album, Circus (2008), included the international chart-topping single "Womanizer". Her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale (2011), became her first to yield three top-ten singles in the United States. She released her eighth studio album Britney Jean in 2013. Later that year, Spears began the four-year residency show, Britney: Piece of Me, at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Her work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award, six MTV Video Music Awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award, ten Billboard Music Awards including the Billboard Millennium Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2009, Billboard ranked her as the 8th overall Artist of the Decade, and also recognized her as the best-selling female artist of the 2000s, as well as the fifth overall. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) lists Spears as the eighth top-selling female artist in the United States, with 34 million certified albums. She has sold 100 million albums worldwide and over 100 million singles. making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. According to Billboard Spears has sold about 22.38 million singles in digital downloads in US and is the fourth best-selling female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began. Rolling Stone recognized her instant success as one of the Top 25 Teen Idol Breakout Moments of all time, while VH1 ranked her eleventh on their "100 Greatest Women in Music" list in 2012, and Billboard named her the sexiest woman in music. Forbes reported that Spears was the highest paid female musician of 2012, with earnings of $58 million, having last topped the list in 2002. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History (year/peak/title): Britney Spears 1999 01 ...Baby One More Time -1- MILLION SELLER 1999 03 Sometimes -2- 1999 05 (You Drive Me) Crazy -3- 2000 01 Born To Make You Happy -4- 2000 01 Oops!... After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations. After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007. Perry rose to fame in 2008 with the release of the singles "I Kissed a Girl" – which sparked controversy for its homosexual themes – and "Hot n Cold" from her second album, a pop rock record titled One of the Boys. Her third album, Teenage Dream (2010), ventured into disco, and contained the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" as well as the number-three single "The One That Got Away". The album became the first by a female artist to produce five number-one Billboard Hot 100 songs, and the second overall after Michael Jackson's album Bad. In March 2012, she re-issued the album as Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which produced the songs "Part of Me" and "Wide Awake". Her fourth album, Prism, was released in 2013, and is influenced by pop and dance. She became the first artist with multiple videos to reach one billion views on Vevo with the videos for its songs "Roar" and "Dark Horse". Her songwriting is mostly done in collaboration with others, especially Dr. Luke and Max Martin, and in songs such as "Firework" and "Roar" she stresses themes of self-empowerment and self-esteem. Perry is known for an idiosyncratic and fun-based sense of personal fashion that incorporates bright colors and food-based themes. Her concert performances feature elaborate stagings and costumes. Perry has received many awards, including four Guinness World Records, and been included in the Forbes list of "Top-Earning Women In Music" (2011–15). She is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, having sold 100 million records globally throughout her career. Perry has also made celebrity endorsements and released the perfumes Purr, Meow!, Killer Queen, and Mad Potion. In July 2012, she released an autobiographical documentary titled Katy Perry: Part of Me, which concentrated on her life as a touring artist and the dissolution of her brief marriage to English actor and comedian Russell Brand in the early 2010s. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History (year/peak/title): 2008 01 I Kissed A Girl -1- 2008 04 Hot N Cold -2- 2009 27 Thinking Of You -3- 2009 19 Waking Up In Vegas -4- 2009 03 Starstrukk (3OH!3 feat. July 15, 201610 yr Are we set for Major Lazer getting 13 weeks at #1 after Drake is dethroned  I wouldn't be surprised if that happened actually. Let's hope the song is great so that I don't moan when it spends ages at #1
July 15, 201610 yr Fun Fact: One Dance is #1 in NZ for twelve weeks and their stream/sales ratio is higher at 175:1.
July 15, 201610 yr Fun Fact: One Dance is #1 in NZ for twelve weeks and their stream/sales ratio is higher at 175:1. *.* Only a true king.
July 15, 201610 yr I thought DLMD had it this week! Hopefully next week but I doubt it because Drake's pure sales will be higher than they were this week!
July 15, 201610 yr Can't complain with One Dance, really not fond of the 3 tracks climbing behind it. Really just hear to say woo to The Avalanches getting in the top 10 :cheer: Edited July 15, 201610 yr by Dircadirca
July 15, 201610 yr He'll be #1 again next week thanks to iTunes discounting the song to 59p  Also, it's r1's fault he's still #1 as they wont take him off the playlist. Even 1xtra are fed up with it which is why they took it off. Katy Perry seriously needs to put her song on Spotify so she can end his reign at the top. If not, then Major Lazer & Justin Bieber or the NOW 94 effect can put an end to him
