In the era of held back releases they did, when she burst in at the top as the pent-up demand was satisfied.

 

This is a track still unheard by the majority of people. Her fanbase have now bought it so it's sliding because there's nothing to really keep it up at the moment. It will stabalise or climb again once casual listeners start to hear it on the radio etc...

Maybe it's dropping because it's a song for the Rio Olympic games and the Olympics don't start until 5th August. Why she's decided to release the song now is baffling to me but it will rise once the Olympics start and the opening ceremony is under way.

 

Of course she could do some sort of sexy promotional photo shoot to boost the song. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that, I know I would :P

I was going to suggest it was boosted by the music video but that was out a week ago. Was it performed on TV?

Katy is dropping like all the new releases. Britney, 5SOS, Snakehips are all falling too. We've had mostly on air releases for a year now. Apart from Calvin, Justinx2, Adele and a couple of other artists, it's the exact same pattern. Peak high, fall rapidly, slowly climb again if airplay kicks in properly. It's not that hard to grasp. Katy might even start climbing again from tomorrow when the weekend is over.
