Okay it was one in the morning my time when I wrote this and I hadn't gotten to bed yet :P

I'm really looking forward to see how this works out with the last 15 nations votes combined.

I'm busy with chart/bbq r8 comments tonight so I'll most likely be absent during live results (typical as it's the first new format too! :P )

Very excited to see how it plays out too! I will try and be here to follow it live, but it'll depend on the start time as I'm two hours ahead of you guys at the moment so won't really be able to stay past 10pm your time.

 

As I've said to some people before, one of the two biggest benefits that the new voting sequence brings isn't really that applicable in spin-offs in terms of there being 60+ votes with a large portion coming in the final few hours, because spin-offs have a more manageable size of countries anyway - although Lotti and Lindsey may have found it very beneficial workload-wise even with this more manageable number to be able to combine the later votes. But we get to test out the other main benefit which is a shorter, more dynamic, more exciting results show so that is what I'm hoping to see tonight! :D

For me, the benefit of the spin-off forum is that we get to try things out on a smaller scale to see how they work and if they have the desired effect before changing the main contest. It's much easier to experiment here.

 

I would like to caution that this doesn't mean we'll be seeing this happen in BJSC this month. There's a chance of that, but we may want to tweak it and trial it again first.

What are we predicting to do well tonight then?

 

I think it's between Altyr Muunilinst and FedRep of Ashton, with other top 5 contenders coming from Avalonia, Deandria, Yehesi, Skall and Séyetana. I'd like to think my own entry can sneak a top 10 place too, probably a flukey #10 finish from N DNTN being deducted if anything.

I'll probably flop after the plug reaction :lol:

 

But then again a couple of people were saying there's not that many faves in this one so maybe 3/4 table for moi

Going for my second top 3 correct prediction in a row (*.*), I'll call Altyr Muunilinst / Séyetana / Skall but we shall see!

I hope myself and Harmonica do well in the BJSC x I have a vaguely good feeling about my entry now. *comes last*

 

Altyr are probably the ones to beat! Hoping for Séyetana to win out of the vaguely possible outcomes tho.

I think Unovia will do well. Delta is well liked and the song is flawless.

 

I would love for MKS to do well with what was one of my options for my 100th entry.
