Caught up, congratulations to Unovia, it was a really lovely song and a beautifully reworked cover. Two spin-off wins *.* Also thank you very much everyone who voted for Deandria - I don't like to recycle much but I found this reworking of the two songs really hauntingly beautiful. I'm glad you weren't disappointed with it Chez, seeing as it was your artist I recycled :heehee: Lovely results show girls, thanks! x

It did take a few listens to fully click actually, but yes, another wonderful reinvention from that duo  (but not as good as my entry from them obvs x) Must put Owsey and his various collaborations on my to listen list really.

Hendinia possibly 'should' have been top 5 as I did drop them a few places in my votes partially because I assumed they probably wouldn't be voting anyway tbh, sorry Rob :kink: But I do prefer Deandria's song anyway so yay. That, Séyetana and Skall all making the top 5 is excellent

congrats to liam :winner:

not last, so that's a bonus ~ thanks to everyone who voted for cupcakes

personally i have no problems with the aggregated reveal provided the host can actually provide a scoreboard and votes promptly at the end... not that i think people are generally untrustworthy, but after the drama of last summer it's best to keep everything aboveboard~ :teresa:

perhaps rating all the songs out of 10, via google forms so no extra work for host, could be a potential substitute for a buzzjack phone vote ~ the added bonus would be no one’s jury votes would lose their shine~

Thanks Harry for the 18! :o

And Lindsey for the 13, plus all the other points. Wasn't expecting to do well really after the plug reaction so I'm just happy that I got a few fans. Was going to post the results separately but looks like it's been done!

Had to give you the 18 Chez- Pendulum covering Coldplay? Unavoidable. You really do have the best taste.

that may not necessarily be the best idea, the niche songs (Mutter) would suffer a fair bit from the majority of people who 'don't get it' rating it ~1/10.

Voting via Google forms is something we have considered but it's challenging to get the right approach at the moment.

Major !!! At the one to suggest this being Ethan, who threw a colossal hissy fit over the Google forms for confirmations when they first came out.

I'm in agreement with Silas over the next step, I definitely think it is worth pursuing this voting format but I think it needs a few tweaks. Especially once we are into the top 10 of The Dream Crusher I think they need to be revealed individually using a format potentially like this in a post:

RAMRYNIA! (Carrying over from the last post)

(scoreboard)

In 8th place with 134 points is...

With the answer in the next post. One of the most tense things about the Eurovision reveal is the way the points totals are revealed first before the actual country. For example when it was announced that 2nd place in Eurovision had scored 324 televote points (or whatever it was), everyone knew that if it was Ukraine they would pass Australia and if it was Russia then they wouldn't. Hard to describe but I think the top 10 reveal in particular needs breaking down.

Nevertheless, the feedback from Lotti tells us that is does save the host a lot of work and is more enjoyable to prepare than endless posts. Personally the timing of this results show was the first time it has been manageable for me to follow the entirety of in probably years. I agree that we are probably more self-centred than we realise, not a criticism just a point, and therefore being eliminated earlier in The Dream Crusher means would mean we don't really care about the rest. But personally I'd take the trade of being less excited for a final 10 minutes than a results show that last 4 hours with massive workload for hosts.

So overall I think tweaks are absolutely necessary but the format isn't a write-off.

I'm SO glad I wasn't here for the live results. 'Born To Die' was so front-loaded

As crushing as that was, I'd say I preferred this reveal method, I'd rather lose all hope in one fell swoop than have a points drought going on for two or three pages and slowly drop down the leaderboard. BUT all that aside I'm happy enough with the result and all of the points, especially as I had NO idea how my cover would be received, especially among the really big Lana fans!

That Delta cover is just amazing, a predictable winner but it was my favorite entry quite firmly! Skall's entry was also great and I never would've guessed it'd be in contention for the win so that was a nice surprise. Glad to see Hendinia do well too, and I would've liked to see more appreciation for Suedeonia's entry so here's a little bit more.
