September 6, 20168 yr Author 82. BANG BANG BANG- Mark Ronson & Business Intl Featuring Q-Tip & MNDR (50,170) #6 No 1 in 2 weeks in 2010 Right back to the summer of 2010 now with Ronson’s lead single from his third album “Record Collection”. It’s fair to say that the era wasn’t as successful as the “Version” period but certainly it’s first week sales weren’t bad at all. TM6TCGltfHM

STARSTRUKK- 3OH!3 Featuring Katy Perry (50,890) #3 http://itunesm4a.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/cover600x600504-350x350.jpeg No 1 in 2 weeks in 2010 In only the second week of the decade this paring racked up the sales as the song actually slid down the charts 3-4. The duo met Perry after supporting her on her tour in 2009 and she guest starred on this track as a favour to the boys, it remains their biggest hit here. dvf--10EYXw

S & M- Rihanna (51,108) #3 http://cdn03.cdn.justjared.com/wp-content/uploads/headlines/2011/01/rihanna-sm-cover-art.jpg No 1 in 2 weeks in 2011 For those of us that recall at the time the title of this was changed to “Come On” by Radio One who obviously considered “S & M” a little too near the knuckle. The mild controversy caused by the risqué lyrics might have helped as well as a version featuring Britney in duet with Rihanna but either way it was a strong seller. E2B_VSpFTRQ
September 7, 20168 yr Wow at both Katy Perry features appearing almost back-to-back. 'Starstrukk' is hardly a classic but I far prefer it to 'If We Ever Meet Again', at least 'Starstrukk' stood out in a weird way while IFWMA sounded too generic to me. 'Cooler Than Me' and 'Bang Bang' were two of my FAVES in 2010  Loved 'Just Can't Get Enough' too, that was also rather quirky in the same way as 'Starstrukk'. Pleased to see that three of the last six were post-album singles!
September 7, 20168 yr Some of these songs are awful, just awful. I don't want to consider them as "unlucky"

SHINE A LIGHT- McFly Featuring Taio Cruz (51,236) #4 No 1 in 2 weeks in 2010 Not many would have anticipated McFly teaming up with Taio Cruz but it produced an unexpected hit back in 2010. It previewed McFly’s fifth album (where has the time gone?) and is actually pretty much what you imagine a merge of the two acts would sound like but it was up against the mighty Rihanna and Take That so no wonder it failed to make the top despite those sales. r6GzjAPSut4

RIGHT THERE- Nicole Scherzinger (51,355) #3 http://www.texty-pisni.eu/images/com_lyrics/albums/3/nicole-scherzinger-right-there-single.jpg No 1 in 2 weeks in 2011 With a run of three top 3 singles on the trot 2011 was undoubtedly her solo chart zenith, and when Scherzinger performed the single on the final of BGT and Graham Norton sales were bound to follow. Sadly it was released the same week as Example recorded the highest weekly tally for a number one in 10 weeks and Pitbull sold more at No 2 than any song had for 7 weeks, all which meant that despite a strong performance she had to settle for No 3. BEST THING I NEVER HAD- Beyonce (51,365) #3 No 1 in 2 weeks in 2011 In the opposite instance of the Scherzinger chart week, Beyonce’s second release from “4” was up against example and Jason Derulo who both put in decreasing performances on the previous week but still outpaced her by 9k and 3k respectively. September 8, 20168 yr 'Just Can't Get Enough' was such an improvement on the awful 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' that came before it. Quite different and refreshing for them. 'Bang Bang Bang' was such an incredible single from Mark Ronson. It remains his best for me! Wonderfully quirky. I even had a soft spot for 'The Bike Song' but obviously that was a bit too WTF to properly connect with the public and set the charts alight. Most of Nicole Scherzinger's solo output is dreadful but 'Right There' is one of a few exceptions. I'd much rather have seen that top the chart than 'Don't Hold Your Breath'! 'Shine A Light' has held up really well over the years. I actually prefer it nowadays far more than I did at the time! I agree with Jordan regarding the two Katy Perry features. 'Starstrukk' was something a bit different and quite fun but there's absolutely nothing to 'If We Ever Meet Again'. Very dull. Finally, I do remember when 'S&M' was censored to 'Come On' on Radio 1  That Rihanna era was SO big, I would have liked to see her get three #1s in a row from it as 'S&M' is a great song.
September 8, 20168 yr I love Bang Bang Bang, quite impressive that such an unusual song shifted 50k in its first week and shame that wasn't enough for a top five. That 50k for McFly must have been significantly more than quite a lot of their #1s got in the first week
September 8, 20168 yr Think I remember a fair few people on this site predicting Bang Bang Bang was gonna flop, which made it all the more special when it went top ten! Great track. Not massively keen on the others on this page but S&M is one of the few Rihanna tracks I can stand, maybe cus it was played so much during my clubbing peak so brings back enjoyable memories.
September 9, 20168 yr That 50k for McFly must have been significantly more than quite a lot of their #1s got in the first week  Iirc, ~30k became the norm for any McFly release (#1 or otherwise) from 'Please Please' through to 'Lies'.

GOIN CRAZY- Dizzee Rascal Featuring Robbie Williams (51,430) #5 http://renownedforsound.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Dizzee-Rascal-300x300.jpg No 1 in 2 weeks in 2013 Back in the summer of 2013 and those familiar strong sellers of Passenger, Robin Thicke and Naughty Boy were still denying higher peaks to some good sellers including this track. The original chorus was apparently done with Example but Dizzee didn’t think it quite work so it was handed to Robbie, it became his penultimate top 10 hit to date! MkMW2kgXIOQ
September 10, 20168 yr Author 75. LIKE A G6- Far East Movement Featuring Cataracts and Dev (51,519) #6 No 1 in 2 weeks of 2010 Not quite the hit here it was in the US where it went all the way to No 1, but certainly it created a big splash when it soared 51-6 in November 10. Dev’s track “Booty Bounce” serves as its chorus and the outfit would final get a UK No 1 albeit as a feature act on The Bingo Players song “Get Up” over 2 years later. w4s6H4ku6ZY

September 10, 20168 yr Thank gosh none of those last three got anywhere near the top spot, all horrendous.
