Mild Minds is an electronic music project by Melbourne-born, Los Angeles–based producer Benjamin David., the creative force behind several successful projects. He was signed to ODESZA's label Foreign Family Collective alongside Aussie mates RÜFÜS DU SOL. He came to life via an epiphany which led to him creating and experimenting outside his usual boundaries. The first time his unreleased music debuted was at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney. His breakout single Swim earned over 20 million streams on Spotify and a 2020 GRAMMY® nomination for Best Remixed Recording.

FORMATIONS carries a steady, propulsive beat that subtly builds momentum throughout, supported by layered, repetitive vocals that wash over you like a comforting echo. The repetitive lyrics over the building track create great movement within the sound. Mild Minds described the song as being carefree and being inspired by his childhood days of adventure without responsibility. That inspiration comes through in every aspect of this song.

BLOND:ISH is the solo project of Vivie-Ann Bakos, known for her vibrant, uplifting house music that blends electronic beats with world music influences. She is a Canadian DJ, producer, record label head, and Web3 entrepreneur and founded the nonprofit charity Bye Bye Plastic to eliminate single-use plastics from music venues and events. In 2024 BLOND:ISH performed at the Yuma Tent at Coachella, Rock in Rio, and Tomorrowland festival.

Stevie Appleton is a British singer, songwriter and producer. After graduating from a music college in London he was quickly signed by Spinnin' Record's based in The Netherlands, and recognised as one of their key writers. He has since become a platinum-selling writer with artists including Tiësto, Cher Lloyd, Klingande and Filatov & Karas, with number 1s in Russia, Poland, Singapore.

Never Walk Alone is taken from her first physically released album of the same name and is meant to serve as a huge group hug to her fans and bring listeners unity, love, and harmony. It is a lush, uplifting house anthem that blends euphoric melodies with a deep sense of emotional connection. Driven by a pulsating groove and warm, ethereal synths, the track radiates positivity and unity — a sonic hug for the dancefloor. The vocals, both soothing and empowering, repeat the mantra-like title, reinforcing the song’s message of togetherness.

Zanmatony continued in their mini qualification streak with another surprise selection this month. BLOND:ISH & Stevie Appleton were able to get to a reduced final by edging past the stragglers of Semi Final 1. It is the third time this nation have finished a BJSC final in 34th place, with the other occasions in BJSC 142 and quite recently in BJSC 170 with our 50th anniversary entry.

Kari Jahnsen (Farao) and Katrín Helga Andrésdóttir(Special-K) make up Ultraflex. They come from Norway and Iceland respectively. Their sound is inspired by the disco, italo and funk of the 80’s, blending it with new-age sensibilities, unexpected jazz chords and melodic twists, resulting in a catchy, contemporary whirlwind of dance floor weirdness. The duo started out drawing tons of inspiration from Soviet and Eastern European electronic music from the 80s, especially Estonian synth-funk producer Uku Kuut, while playing around with old Soviet aerobic videos as visuals for their concerts.

Baby brings a suave, punchy love song built for the dance floor. The lyrics cleverly frame flirtation as a duel—bold, a little risky, and full of swagger—pitching romance and self-expression in one breath. Stylistically, it packs disco-era glam with modern production sheen and playful, shift-y melodies. It’s about risk, synchronicity, and embracing now, regardless of where tomorrow might lead.

Dan Deacon is an American composer and electronic musician based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He is renowned for his five studio albums of innovative electronic music, his live performances in both contemporary and classical settings, and his extensive body of work in film scores. Dan Deacon's compositional style is best classified in the future shock genre along with Videohippos, Santa Dads, Blood Baby, Ecstatic Sunshine, Ponytail, and other bands in the growing Baltimore music scene. In February 2008 Deacon performed at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.

Feel The Lightning is the opening track on hit 2015 album Gliss Riffer, described as a "warm, kaleidoscopic mess of modern psychedelia" that celebrates human experience with a joyful yet introspective sound. The song features Deacon's signature style of densely stuffed polyrhythmic beats and buzzy synth sequencers that ecstatically fire like synapses straight from his technicolor brain. While the vocals might sound like two different people, they are actually both Deacon's, warped to create distinct characters. The music video is a wonderfully bizarre, multi-colored fantasy in which the living room furniture comes to life.

Dan Deacon becomes the latest representative of Zanmatony to qualify for a BJSC Final, having secured qualification earlier this month with a bizarre song from 2015. The position Zanmatony finished in the final was 27th, a second time at this place, and it extends our qualification streak to six, which is two short of the national record up to this point.

Irish singer Morgana has been making a name for herself on tour opening for CMAT across Europe and North America. She spent the best part of a decade touring as one half of the folk duo Saint Sister. As the Dublin-based duo with Gemma Doherty, she released two well-received albums, toured globally, and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize twice. Following Saint Sister's indefinite hiatus at the end of 2023, Morgana launched her solo project. Morgana can be heard lending her voice to other projects; Villagers album The Art of Pretending to Swim, Homeward Bound (Bono, Gary Lightbody) and as a guest vocalist for the RTE Concert Orchestra.

I’m Not Going Anywhere, is an electro-pop persistence anthem. It is released as her first official single since the release of her debut EP Party Killer earlier in 2025. The song is inspired by the decision to continue an artistic career after Saint Sister decided to stop touring and making music. The fun video with Morgana playing multiple characters was directed by Greg Purcell.

Steven Wilson is a six-time Grammy nominated English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer, most closely associated with the progressive rock genre. He is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the British rock band Porcupine Tree, as well as being a member of several other bands. He employs synthesizers and programmed music along with live instruments to create a unique atmosphere for each song he works on, including otherwise-simple pop tunes. A pioneer in the world of spatial audio, he has remixed works by New Order, The Who, King Crimson, Suede, XTC and Tears For Fears among many others.

Drive Home is one of Steven Wilson’s most emotional and beautifully crafted songs. Built around a haunting guitar melody and lush orchestration, it unfolds slowly, almost like a memory returning in fragments. His vocal delivery is gentle but full of ache, and the lyrics explore loss and the surreal numbness that follows it. The song’s centerpiece—a soaring, expressive guitar solo—feels like the true emotional climax, conveying everything the words leave unsaid. The music video is an emotionally heavy short film animated by Jess Cope. It mixes stop-motion–style puppetry with hand-drawn elements to create a dreamlike, almost storybook atmosphere.
