October 27, 20177 yr xx A Minute (Intro) - Won't rate as it was pretty forgettable as far as intros go :lol: 09 Love So Soft - I've had a MASSIVE u-turn on this over the last two months. It's brilliant, not quite as good as her other singles but it is fab to listen to 06 Heat - I was surprised, much better than the snippet in the album trailer 10 Meaning Of Life - Another great "Kelly" moment, fantastic vocals and of course, the live Nashville session was OUTSTANDING. If anything I feel the live version of this is MUCH better with the studio version a bit limp in comparison 08 Move You - Like Love So Soft, massive u-turn on this despite being a tad cliche like Jonjo said, but it fits nicely 04 Whole Lotta Woman - pretty cringe on first listen and doesn't really go anywhere for me :( 05 Medicine - At first it reminded me of Whitney Houston, similarly to Whole Lotta Woman, it doesn't really go anywhere for me. 05 Cruel - Very filler 07 Didn't I - Anyone else getting reminded of A-YO from Joanne, in the chorus?? 09 Would You Call That Love -THE CHORUS IS FLAWLESS. 09 I Don't Think About You - THOSE VOCALS. 05 Slow Dance - A bit boring on first listen but I'm hoping it grows! 04 Don't You Pretend - SO forgettable :drama: 08 Go High - I was REALLY worried about this after the earlier preview last week said it was like Take You High from Piece By Piece and I honestly can't hear any resemblance :o loving this and the end of the track when it slows down and everything is FABULOUS. Yes Michelle Obama inspiring the queen of self empowerment *.* Overall verdict: I really do love the direction shes going in from the last few records. Really loving Love So Soft/Move You/Meaning Of Life/Would You Call That Love/I Don't Think About You/Go High on first listen. I'm glad that 3/4 of the tracks she wrote as in my album top few tracks because I love it when shes involved with the writing, as some of my previous faves are penned by her and this is no exception :wub:

October 28, 20177 yr I got my copy of the album today. Heard it a few times not but it’s not as strong as some of her other albums. There are some good tracks though - medicine and I don’t think about it.

November 2, 20177 yr I like every song on the album to a certain degree, so that's a good thing. I'm loving the attitude of Whole Lotta Woman right now.
November 2, 20177 yr Author First listen rate!! xx.x 'A Minute (Intro)' > I don't like rating short intros etc.. but it's nice. < 09.0 'Love So Soft' > Actually underrated tbh. < 08.5 'Heat' > This is stronger than I thought it would be judging by the preview! Hopefully the album follows suit! < 09.0 'Meaning Of Life' > This reminds me of a strong Paloma track. Really love how uplifting it is. < 10.0 'Move You' > The lyrics are very clichéd, but it kinda works in it's favour as opposed to taking away from it. My fave of the era so far. The choir part gets me. EVERY TIME. < 06.5 'Whole Lotta Woman' > Love how fierce she is on this, but it's all a bit jarring on first listen. I think it's one that will grow/just needs getting used to. Not bad though. < 08.0 'Medicine' > I really like this. I think this could also grow. In fact as the track goes on it gets better. < 07.0 'Cruel' > It's nice. Very album filler, but nice. < 07.0 'Didn't I' > See above. < 08.0 'Would You Call That Love' > It builds so well! Another one to keep an ear out for the future! < 11.0 'I Don't Think About You' > Holy shit. This is stunning. OH MY. < 07.0 'Slow Dance' > Another "filler but nice" track. This could grow though! < 07.5 'Don't You Pretend' > Love the staggered backing vocals during the chorus. < 09.0 'Go High' > A nice change of sound for the end of the album. The only thing is that the vocal procession on the "go hiIIIGH" is quite annoying. But we'll see how I feel after a few more listens. < Overall, stronger than I had expected (I expected to rate things about 06/07 more), but there are still a few too many "nice but filler" tracks on here, but a few have potential to grow and I think overall, it'll impact me in a similar way to how 'Joanne', 'Witness' and 'Younger Now' have sort of impacted me (I'll probs end up loving it a whole lot more than others will). November 3, 20177 yr Slow Dance is that one song that really grabbed me, I’ve had it on repeat all week lol. I really like I Don’t Think About You and Whole Lotta Woman too. Move You and Slow Dance are my top 2, both 11/10s. This is one of my favourite Kelly albums, I love the “Love On the Brain”-vibe and the more soulful sound, it really suits her. November 3, 20177 yr #11 in the UK for Kelly. Gutted for her tbh I thought she was a surefire top 10, and the fact that idiot Chris Brown is at #10 in front of her grates on me! She needs to get over here and start promo asap!
