November 22, 20169 yr I just think it's the UK public not being able to take to girl groups in huge amounts at a time, so that when they DO connect with them, they're incredibly successful and have longevity. It's frustrating seeing how many girl groups have failed, when we see so many flash in the pan boybands get one or two big hits, before disappearing! The difference with Little Mix really, is that girl bands had a reputation for never doing well on X Factor. It's odd how many boybands can just come and go due to how easy it is to manipulate teenage girls into buying into that market, whereas with girls, it takes something special, which is why Little Mix won and can safely claim to be the most successful winning act, to come from the show. There was a market for a new girl group and it really couldn't have been better timing and couldn't have happened to a better group of girls. Their likability is off the charts. They're relateable. They're genuinely good, live singers and more often than not, manage to steal the show with whatever performance they do, no matter who they're performing live alongside. (See the BRITS this year - Rihanna and Adele both performed, but I definitely see more praise for Little Mix's performance) It's kinda frustrating though, coz even though they're successful in what they do, it feels like they're still ridiculously underrated/don't quite manage the level of success that they deserve, and yet it seems like bands like 1D/JLS etc.. can be so successful by (what feels like) default. Yet it feels like the girls work so much harder for the success they get. Tbf, this doesn't just apply to girl groups. It applies to female acts in general. Selena/Ariana etc... get a tough time/struggle to get hits (despite airplay) if they don't promote their stuff, but it's ok for Justin and Drake et al to not promote and get monster hits?
November 22, 20169 yr Disappointed to see DNCE so low in the first update :drama: Such a good/fun pop album too! Pleased the Vamps are back in the Top 40, they have been all over the place with this single though (42-75-80-24-41..).
November 22, 20169 yr Hey guys Any idea where Britney Spears slumber party is on the charts? I noticed it's stayed in the top 100 on iTunes all week so therefore I presume it will enter top 100 sales chart but I don't know if the official chart due to low streams? Do they include YouTube stream? I'm new here

November 22, 20169 yr Thank you I am hoping it enters top 200 as it has been on top 100 iTunes all week
November 22, 20169 yr I have to agree with the disappointment at DNCE's album position this week. By far the best and most diverse album of this week's highest profile acts. Metallica's album is way below par for anyone, let alone an act of their standing. Bruno's is more of his generic nonsense and the majority of Little Mix's album is little more than a screechy-shouty-fest. I wasn't expecting to like the DNCE album as their singles have been something akin to novelty tracks, but I was pleasantly surprised.
November 22, 20169 yr It applies to female acts in general. Selena/Ariana etc... get a tough time/struggle to get hits (despite airplay) if they don't promote their stuff, but it's ok for Justin and Drake et al to not promote and get monster hits? It honestly comes down to who you compare. I mean, you can't compare Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande with Justin Timberlake. Justin's been hugely successful since the late 1990's whereas both Gomez and Grande have not even been prominent for a decade. If I took Nick Jonas for example, he and his brothers have been well-known for 10 years now however Nick still struggles to get decent-sized hits despite massive promotion and national tours. Jake Miller is another example of someone who's been around for years and has yet to even make a ripple in the chart world even though his promotion campaigns are endless. Now if you take Adele, Rihanna or Beyoncé and compare them to Justin Timberlake, I'd say that they're all at this moment more relevant than him. Adele doesn't even need to promote her music, just as long as her name's attached to something it'll sell shit-loads. Beyoncé's tours sell out ridiculously fast and then we have Rihanna who took a 4-year hiatus and then came back with a MONSTER lead single and US-number one album that has hung around in the Billboard 200 top ten for 30+ weeks. People love charisma in their artists... Justin, Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna etc have that in abundance. I'm sorry but as much as every now and then Little Mix release a big single, it's the girl's lack of charisma that disinterests people; they're overflowing with it when they perform (hence their good reception every time they're on The X Factor or something), but the magic is sort of lost when they talk or have to entertain whilst not singing and dancing. They're lovely, sweet, and funny girls, but they really are just 'the girl next-door' types and sadly people today are only interested in "STARS".

November 22, 20169 yr I'm properly baffled by DNCE's low position, I thought it would be an easy Top 10 contender! It's such a great album.
November 22, 20169 yr I wasn't that fussy on the DNCE album as I was hoping I would be, currently listening to the Justice album, now that deserves to make the top 10 but it won't
November 22, 20169 yr Please remember guys we don't get updates everyday, they are never guaranteed, I know there are a lot of Little Mix fans out there who are desperate to find out how far they are ahead in sales, just be patience we will post any updates when they come in ASAP.

November 22, 20169 yr I seen on Popjustice forum a few hours ago Little Mix sold 9k yesterday and currently on 73k, Don't know if its true or not but I think Joe from this forum posted it if am not wrong so am guessing it will be true. Probably increased the lead again I would imagine.
November 22, 20169 yr Wow, big congratulations to Little Mix. Definitely #1 come Friday, and hats off to them - they have got bigger and bigger whereas a lot of X Factor artists have seen a decline. Big achievement.

November 22, 20169 yr Whether they sell 90k or 100k it is still HUGE sales for them I hope they do just get 100k but I think 90k is pretty much on lock for them now which is massive no matter how you look at it. Edited November 22, 20169 yr by BrookeOlivia
