December 11, 20168 yr My favourites out of that bunch are Birch Tree, White Tiger & Ophelia. All of them were catchy, in particular Ophelia, and White Tiger was so lively!
December 12, 20168 yr 100 | Justin Timberlake - "Can't Stop The Feeling!" Possibly one of the songs of the summer for sure! I definitely agree with all that you say about it being overplayed and I got tired of it rather quickly but it was still always fun hearing it on a night out. It was weird seeing this at Eurovision though lmao. 099 | MNEK - "At Night (I Think About You)" This song.. is a masterpiece. Seriously. A very possible contender for the top 10 songs of the year for me. MNEK has always just kind of been there for me, you know, featured on a hit here ('Ready for your Love'), collaboration there ('Never Forget You') but this year he definitely stepped it up a notch! Really impressed with his 2015-16 stuff! Especially this gem! 098 | Drake ft. Wizkid & Kyla - "One Dance" I think there's probably not many songs that divide opinions on this forum as much as this one does for 2015 lmao. You either love it or loathe it, especially with how god damn long it took to fall from the top spot. I honestly love this song but I still felt it overstayed at the top by at least 10 weeks lol. I don't think I'll get sick of the song anytime soon though. 093 | Shawn Mendes ft. Camila Cabello - "I Know What You Did Last Summer" This is so funny. On paper I never would have thought I'd like this song as much as I did. Somehow it all just works even though I really feel it shouldn't. Their voices match perfectly together and it feels like a classic pop song already. I'm surprised it didn't do better in the UK.

Oh yeah, I forgot he even performed it at this year's Eurovision, it did seem really odd at the time but it definitely fits in with all the fun of the show. Got to be one of the most joyous tracks this year! I agree that I've only enjoyed some things from MNEK and his solo stuff had never really hit me until this track, the production especially is fantastic! I was getting a bit sick of One Dance for a while but I can enjoy it now that it's no longer #1 for a ridiculous amount of time, that reign of terror is over now and I can enjoy it for that jam it always was :music: It had a bit of a messy release iirc and then it was over by the time it was getting any airplay, at least the releases for TYB and Mercy were better handled and they were able to be hits. I've really been enjoying his output atm :D Thanks jaf! Hey Josh! :D I Know What You Did Last Summer is my highlight of this section, although I must say it's my least favourite Shawn single so far! Shame it missed the official top 40 but it had such a messy release, it peaked on Spotify months before its single push :drama: White Tiger is a really nice song, I love how quirky it is, shame it didn't make much more of an impact! I think some of the older Shawn tracks like Something Big and Life of the Party are his worst for me, he's definitely got better in time for me. I thought White Tiger was going to be really big when she was getting hyped this time last year but she completely fizzled out altogether, a huge shame actually because I was well hyped for her in 2016 and nothing happened ! Thanks Joseph :D At Night is absolutely incredible one of my fave songs of the year  One Dance is great of course & a perfect club song  It is definitely one of MNEK's strongest tracks yet for me, hoping he has a proper next single soon after that awful cover. Despite feeling far too overplayed, One Dance is still quite the jam, shame about how polarising it is :o Thanks Dobbo! One Dance is such a massive tune :music: But overplay has dampened it a bit. I Know What You Did Last Summer is brilliant, mainly due to Camila. It is the only Shawn song I've liked so far. Yeah, overplay has definitely dampened it a bit but it can be irresistible sometimes when you hear it on the radio, it is a bit of a jam ! Oh no, Shawn's been consistently great for me since Stitches now, he's one of my favourite people in pop at the moment *-* Thanks Robin! My favourites out of that bunch are Birch Tree, White Tiger & Ophelia. All of them were catchy, in particular Ophelia, and White Tiger was so lively! Ophelia definitely has a certain catchiness to it, shame Ho Hey will be their huge remembered track when they have had better :( Thanks Pete!Â

Bastille - Send Them Off! / (12-16-19-20-34-38-47-27-37-46-x) 10 weeks 90. AlunaGeorge - I Remember / (23-6-7-22-34-40-x) 6 weeks Mercy - I do much prefer Shawn's uptempo tracks like Stitches and TYB but Mercy was a great single choice and it still spent a fair few weeks in my personal chart top 10. I especially love the ad libs towards the end of the track and his live performances of the track are cute too. I Got You - Wasn't expecting to like a Bebe Rexha solo single this much after her past few have been pretty terrible but this is just a solid pop song with a really, really catchy chorus. Would hoping it would pick up a bit of hype but she's still have to keep searching for her big breakthrough single it seems :( Youth - I enjoyed Life Itself but it didn't hit me half as much as Youth ended up doing, it has a soaring chorus and it never failed to put me in a good mood. I've heard that their album is really great too so I must listen to that sometime. That's My Girl - 5H had a great year for me and their other two singles will be well higher in this list. TMG is a nice track and definitely has some catchy hooks but altogether, it does sound a bit messy for my liking and didn't have the same appeal to me as their other more urban flavoured singles. Ain't Got Far to Go - Jess had a really stellar era with hit single after hit single, this was always one of my highlights from the album so I was initially really pleased when it was first announced as a single. Unfortunately, it didn't do much in the official chart so quite often I forget it even happened. Was still a top 10 hit for me though in the early months of the year. Ride - Stressed Out just missed the top 100 but Ride manages to sneak in although neither are as high as Heathens which is still to come. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did but it has a fantastic, quirky chorus which really appealed to me. I think it probably deserved a better chart run on my chart. Black Beatles - I enjoyed quite a few Rae Sremmurd tracks from their last era and their current one has already provided the goods with worldwide smash Black Beatles. Nowhere near as good as Throw Sum Mo for me but got to be second place in their single's discography for me, it is really catchy! Rise - Katy is one of my favourite pop artists of all time so I was so hyped for Rise and although a solid and well-produced song, it is ultimately a bit dull which is probably why it dropped out so fast after its top 10 run in my chart. Send Them Off! - I've said before that Bastille have picked some great singles already from this era, Send Them Off! is very brash and in your face which really works in its favour imo as it makes it sound very exciting. It was one of my favourite tracks of the night when I saw them live too. I Remember - Still not the last AlunaGeorge track to appear as they had a pretty stellar year for me. This one is really catchy and I love the quirkiness of the vocals and chorus, a huge shame they never got any proper big chart hits from this era and their album tanked :(
December 12, 20168 yr Send Them Off! is a cool track from Bastille. I much prefer it to Good Grief, which was also pretty decent as well. Rise is a nice track but I hope Katy is going to come back with something much better soon. It's nowhere near her peak. Black Beatles has certainly been the shock hit of the year. Their last era was good, I liked No Type & Come Get Her, but this is their first song that has properly hit me and I love. That's My Girl is an amazing track. They are easily one of my favourite artists at the moment, every track they release is golden. I'd rank this 2nd in their 3 singles this year.
December 13, 20168 yr Hi Josh,  81. Shawn Mendes - Mercy / (15-5-6-8-7-10-10-22-31-43-...) 10 weeks (so far) 83. Glass Animals - Youth / (25-16-15-11-10-22-24-36-48-x) 9 weeks 84. December 13, 20168 yr enjoying this so far, absolutely loving AlunaGeorge this era especially 'I Remember' :heart:Â Also loving One Dance and At Night from the 91-100 section.
December 13, 20168 yr Completely agree with your comments on I Got You, I wasn't expecting to like it but I did! Send Them Off & Ain't Got Far to Go are both great tunes as well!

Hi Lewis I do definitely prefer Good Grief but STO is one of their best singles for me now, love how loud it is. Katy does really need to come back with something much better, I'm worried she's leaving it too long with this massive hiatus though and Rise was hardly the best thing to fill in the gap, a bit boring really :/ No Type and Throw Sum Mo were my favourites from last era and I liked This Could Be Us a fair bit too, hope they get a few more hits of this album too. Definitely on a great singles run at the moment but this has to be the weakest of the three from this era for me, the others are just so damn catchy! Thanks !!:D Completely agree with your comments on I Got You, I wasn't expecting to like it but I did! Send Them Off & Ain't Got Far to Go are both great tunes as well! I'm hoping Bebe will manage to get an actual solo chart hit sometime, she does have the voice for it! I agree, two of the best tracks of their respective artists I think Thanks Pete! enjoying this so far, absolutely loving AlunaGeorge this era especially 'I Remember' Also loving One Dance and At Night from the 91-100 section. Still more Aluna to come so look forward to that, they've had a great sequence of singles this era. Thanks Dan!! Hi Josh, Mercy is fantastic I dont prefer it to Treat You Better or Stiches though:(  Its official Thats My Girl is my favourite FH song   Ride is such a jam so happy they have had success this past year they deserve it   I Remember is my favourite AlunaGeorge song this era :o  Great section :D Hiya Harry I agree with you there, his uptempos are certainly his best. TYB will be well higher still!~ They still have two left in this countdown, I think Worth It would make the top three for me too. This isn't even close, they have too many great singles! Me too, a shame Ride couldn't be a big hit here though like it was in the US :( They still have one left here but it was a great track, they picked some smashing singles this era!! Thanks Harry :D

Wolf Alice - Lisbon / (23-21-20-18-18-20-22-25-33-36-43-48-x) 12 weeks Blown Rose - Blossoms managed to get a high placing on the albums EOY this year and also two singles on the top 100 singles so not a bad year for them either. BR was always the track I was hoping would be announced as a single and I fell in love with it properly once it was. So glad they managed to get the #1 UK album earlier in the year. Superlove - Superlove lands in 72nd place here, not far of the #65 placing that 2 On managed two years back but Pretend remains her highest placing EOY track at #24 also in 2014. I didn't take much notice of the song at first but fell in love when I saw the video and the star power that radiates from her, really praying for her breakout hit in 2017, she deserves it badly! We Don't Talk Anymore - Charlie has had a great year on my personal chart with lots of long runners but We Don't Talk Anymore has been his most successful and it managed to sneak a week in the top 10 too. It's a nice little pop duet with complementary lyrics passing between Charlie and Selena. It was a slow burner in the UK charts but unfortunately missed out on an official top 10 spot :( Twice - Twice is another example of huge highlight on the album and therefore obvious single choice. Unfortunately, it feels like this era hasn't quite been as big for them as their debut but they got great first week album sales earlier in the year and continued R1 support which is always nice to see. Cocoon remains their best track yet for me though. Worship - Never actually been a huge fan of Y&Y singles and I mainly just quite like them in a if they come on the radio, I won't skip it kind of way which meant Worship hit me quite surprisingly so late in the campaign. I wasn't expecting anything this good to be left so late as a single but I think it's definitely their strongest track yet imo! A shame they followed this with Meteorite which was a bit (very) boring. Sucker for Pain - Apparently everyone really hates this track on here or something but I've always enjoyed it and was really rooting for it to make the official top 10 when it came so close a couple of times. It has a great blend of rap and poppy, catchy hook and sounded refreshing in the charts of today. Heathens is of course the stronger Suicide Squad track though. All Four Walls - Last year, one off single Saving My Life made #89 in my EOY and their single this era does slightly better than that making #77. The vocals are gorgeous and the sound was back to the sound they first came out with which was nice to see, unfortunately it didn't return them to the heights of the official charts though as I had hoped :( Girls Like - I was really enjoying Girls Like for quite a while when it first debuted but I did get pretty sick of it quickly hence why it has a fairly low placing here. Nowadays, I tend to skip it if I hear it out and about but it's still good in small doses and has an enjoyable chorus. Both artists are capable of so much more though. Are We Ready? (Wreck) - Only ever been a casual fan of TDCC previous to this and mainly only listened to Sleep Alone but this track really made me notice them and it ended up with a pretty stellar chart run on my personal chart. Definitely a great choice for lead single as it hyped me for the album which I ended up enjoying greatly too. Lisbon - Lisbon had quite a few weeks in the top half of my charts and actually has the longest chart run of any tracks in this batch. Wolf Alice have had a really successful era and when you listen to their tracks, it's not hard to see why. Hoping they come back even bigger and better in 2017, would love a new album from them then :wub:Â
December 13, 20168 yr Hey Josh! Double section to catch up on ~ Mercy is excellent, it's not quite peaked in my affections as much as Stitches and Treat You Better but I'm still enjoying it lots now, I'd rank it third out of his singles behind those two I think! I Got You almost has more plays than No Broken Hearts for me despite peaking nearly 30 places lower  it's definitely not getting old as quickly, although I'm not obsessed with it either. Would like her to get a solo hit soon! Rise is solid but probably one of Katy's weakest singles for me, she's capable of a lot better and I have no doubts that she'll deliver on that front next year! We Don't Talk Anymore is my favourite of Charlie's so far! So much great stuff so far Josh!!
December 14, 20168 yr 090 | AlunaGeorge - "I Remember" Definitely not their best song yet but a decent one nontheless. The beat is very cool. 088 | Katy Perry - "Rise" Incredibly underwhelming if not the most underwhelming comeback of the year. I think i maybe listened to this song four times before I was sick of it. Such a shame as Katy Perry usually delivers amazing smashes. 086 | Twenty One Pilots - "Ride" My favorite out of the three that gained attention this year. They bring a cool alternate style to music charts which hasn't been seen since the days of Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte etc. 085 | Jess Glynne - "Ain't Got Far To Go" Although not necessarily a bad song it's completely overshadowed by its predecessors for me. It never felt like a hit to me so I was not at all surprised it didn't meet the dizzying heights of all her other songs. 084 | Fifth Harmony - "That's My Girl" 5H have really been on their A-game this year haven't they?! 'Thats My Girl' and 'Work From Home' are definitely among my Top 100 songs of the year, and this is truly a pop GEM! 082 | Bebe Rexha - "I Got You" Bebe's most recent smash fell right into my 'love' basket for sure. I think this is possibly the best thing she's done all year and it's so catchy! I really hope Bebe gets major attention asap! 081 | Shawn Mendes - "Mercy" So much better than 'Treat You Better'. I love how raw and emotional this is and Shawn is really one of the most interesting artists on the rise these days. Plus he's super freakin' hot. 078 | Tinie Tempah ft. Zara Larsson - "Girls Like" Zara and Tinie are really a dynamic duo. I can't help but love everything Zara touches and this just reminds me of amazing days in the scorching sun in Magaluf. What a TUNE! 077 | Gorgon City ft. Vaults - "All Four Walls" OMG I seriously thought I was the only one who appreciated this masterpiece! This makes me feel all kinds of emotions that I didn't know I could feel. Ugh, I just love it. Top 100 for sure. 075 | Years & Years - "Worship" Years and Years have quickly become one of my all-time favorite bands because of this one simple album. I was so happy when we got one more single before the album finished but unfortunately it didn't do much. 073 | Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez - "We Don't Talk Anymore" After his offerings last year (bar 'See You Again' which holds a special emotional value in my heart) I was sure I wouldn't be a fan of Charlie Puth but man was I wrong. This song is amazing and I really wish he had lead with something like this instead.
December 14, 20168 yr I felt the same way over Girls Like. It was good for a bit but then got dull. Tinie is really struggling to match the quality of the tunes off the Disc-Overy album. Â Sucker For Pain  This has easily been one of my favourite songs of the year. I don't understand all the hate it gets at all. Wiz Khalifa's parts are a little boring but Ty Dolla $ign's, Logic's & Lil Wayne's verses are all killer. It maybe could have done with a little more X Ambassadors though. They were quite pointless on it.
December 14, 20168 yr All Four Walls was an excellent return to form for Gorgon City, just a shame deep house isn't so relevant anymore otherwise it would've been a reasonable chart hit :(Â love Girls Like from that section also.
December 16, 20168 yr My favourite from that last group is Blown Rose, still in my chart and one of the best from them!
December 18, 20168 yr Author My favourite from that last group is Blown Rose, still in my chart and one of the best from them! Definitely one of their best but their whole album is really stellar, looking forward to what the future singles from them will be. Thanks Pete Hey Josh! I think I would rank it third too ever so slightly ahead of IKWYDLS. NBH was terrible, the only highlight was the Nicki part but all the Bebe parts were all over the place. IGY was a huge surprise for me. Probably her weakest single of all yet for me, Rise was just so dull, she needs to come back with something big or I'm afraid she's soon going to go the same way as Britney and Gaga :( Thanks!! 090 | AlunaGeorge - "I Remember" Definitely not their best song yet but a decent one nontheless. Hope she comes back with something fab. 86 Heathens is their best yet for me but I love the different tracks they're bringing to the chart. I wish Ride was big here like in the US. 75 DBSHY and TMH are better for me but this is still a great track, would have liked if it had kept up her top 10 streak but the era felt over by then anyway. 84 WFH and Flex are both 11/10 songs and Worth It is one of my favourite girlband songs too, they're on fire! 82 It is incredibly catchy, I just want her to get some solo success now after all these features. 81 Isn't he gorgeous? Like my main celeb crush at the moment omg  78 It is definitely a great collab but both are capable of more imo, it could have been better even though it's still a tune. 77 Definitely an underrated track, I wish Gorgon City were getting hits again like they were two years back, the output is still fab but they don't seem to be catching on with the public. 75 I wish it had done well in the charts because it's their best single yet for me, way better than King/Desire etc for me. 73 I've really been enjoying his music at the moment, he's not the coolest star out there but all his tracks are cute and catchy too.  Thanks for commenting :D I felt the same way over Girls Like. It was good for a bit but then got dull. Tinie is really struggling to match the quality of the tunes off the Disc-Overy album.  Sucker For Pain  This has easily been one of my favourite songs of the year. I don't understand all the hate it gets at all. Wiz Khalifa's parts are a little boring but Ty Dolla $ign's, Logic's & Lil Wayne's verses are all killer. It maybe could have done with a little more X Ambassadors though. They were quite pointless on it. Hi Lewis Yeah the likes of Frisky and Written In The Stars will remain his best now I think although I enjoyed Children of the Sun and Not Letting Go a fair bit too since then. I wish he'd just get on with releasing a new album. It seems to get SOO much hate around here but it's well catchy imo and all the rap verses are great as you say. I did prefer Heathens from the SS soundtrack though. Thanks for commenting! All Four Walls was an excellent return to form for Gorgon City, just a shame deep house isn't so relevant anymore otherwise it would've been a reasonable chart hit :( love Girls Like from that section also. Hi Dan Yeah, I feel like both this and Saving My Life should've been top 10 hits for them but they're just not catching on in the charts at all which is a huge shame :( Thanks!

Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own / (34-28-26-6-7-12-11-13-15-17-23-25-x) 12 weeks Agape - Bear's Den have had a fair few hits on my chart now but Agape is definitely my favourite by them. It seems to be quite underrated as it is rarely mentioned when people discuss them but I find it really gorgeous and still love listening to it regularly. It reminds me a bit of the new Mumford & Sons tracks too which is no bad thing. Drum - Following on from Final Song, Drum seems to be quite disappointing for most people but for me it is a way stronger track. The production is great and it has a really catchy chorus. I much preferred it to FS so I'm a bit gutted it didn't turn into a chart hit. Here - Here was Alessia Cara's biggest worldwide hit but she actually still has one track yet to come in this countdown. It had a mammoth chart run in my chart, 18 weeks is great for me and probably one of the longest runners all year as it got a bit of a second wind. The track is very 'cool' and I probably ought to go back to it more. Do It Right - I quite like Martin Solveig's output but Do It Right really took me by surprise because I'd never properly loved something by him before. It's an exciting high-energy track and it sounds great when played loud. I was hoping it would turn into a big chart hit too but unfortunately that never happened. Charlemagne - This is Blossoms' final track in the countdown and it has definitely become their signature hit now. It has a great instrumental and the guitar parts are my favourite for sure, I'm glad that it has become their main track now as it is my favourite from them. Waste a Moment - I didn't think I liked KoL much before this era but I surprisingly enjoyed WAM and haven't looked back since really. It has quite a poppy chorus for a rock track which I think is what makes it so catchy. Love, Hope and Misery - This is the final Jake Bugg track now to appear in the countdown but it's done really well for only peaking at #13 although, in hindsight it did probably deserve a higher peak and longer chart run. It's his attempt at a ballad and it really works imo, his quirky voice makes it different and stand out from the rest of the ballads this year. Last Dance - This is probably the Dua Lipa track that seems to pop up least in discussions about her but for me, it's her best track yet. I'm glad that Be the One is getting a re-release because it deserves to smash but I'd much rather it be this, I feel like it could be big for her, it's much more exciting and uptempo imo. Say It - Tory Lanez got a shock smash hit in my charts earlier in the year and although Luv is a great track too, this definitely remains his best for me. His voice is very nice on it and I love the repeated female 'say it' parts, I think those are my favourite. Dancing On My Own - Everyone pretty much despises this but I think because I hate the overrated, boring, Robyn original so much, this breathed a new life into the track for me and I really enjoyed it. He has a fantastic voice and it really works on a ballad like this, I did suddenly go off it at the end of it's chart run but it still had a very healthy run of 9 weeks in the top 25. Â

December 19, 20168 yr Mercy, Drum, We Don't Talk Anymore, Ride, Waste A Moment, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Worship and Send them off are just some highlights inside your top 100, Worship wasn't far off my top 100 actually, shame because it deserved to do better officially even as 5 or 6th single or whatever. Titled & Stressed Out in the 'miss out' are also superb and will be appearing much higher in mine but where I'll keep that a secret till you see ;) Oh Cant Stop The Feeling was a #1 for me so expect that to show up. Not a fan of JT usually but this and Mirrors he has won me a fan in, in this decade! Just noticed we're SNAP with Izzy Bizu btw :o Edited December 19, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~

Jake's masterpiece, it's so sad but so beautiful at the same time. Really love this song, it was number 1 in my personal chart.
