December 5, 20168 yr It sounds unfinished and "cheap" to me. I mean it's good fun, but it sounds too much like a demo! :( I think it's one of her most overrated ones for definite.
December 6, 20168 yr It's fun but one of her more basic singles I think, agree with what Jonjo says. A case of the video being better than the song / helping to elevate the song, one of her very best videos for sure!!

How dare you feel this way about California Squirrels? Love it. It's a Tik Tok rehash, but it's my favorite single from a great era.
December 6, 20168 yr Amazing song. The indie pop crowd hate it but the video and song are amazing. Real pop highlights. This is fun pop at its best like what the Spices used to do.
December 6, 20168 yr It is very mediocre, a cheap and watered down knock off of 'TiK ToK', but I have enjoyed it when I've been drunk and the video is totally epic.
December 6, 20168 yr Yet ironically Tik Tok is cheap and trashy and really borin to listen to? Tik Tok came out first, by over a year and it was an obvious "Wash, Rinse & Repeat" by the producer. (Shout out to Kelly Clarkson)
December 9, 20168 yr Author I still adore this and it's right up there with her best tracks for me. As has been mentioned loads already, the video is incredible and probably her best video of her career to date but the song itself is all so catchy and fun too. Definitely a future pop classic, I think.
January 9, 20178 yr This doesn't deserve any of the flack it gets, it's pure pop fun at it's finest and still to this day, I'd rank it as one of my personal faves and it propelled her to superstar status and proved all them ney sayers wrong and kicked started the ever amazing 'TD' era with a loud bang.
