Fan or not, the release of Shout Out To Me Ex was easily one of the most surprising and impressive moments of the chart year. Everyone knew they'd become more popular but nobody predicted the heights of popularity they'd risen to. They were number 1 on iTunes with the biggest lead since Adele's Hello, went to 1 on Spotify in days and had the fastest sales of the year, managing a number 1 single with just 5 days.

Drake's 10+ weeks at number 1 was the other one.

Clearly this has been the year of Drake and Little Mix!

Think Drake has the edge there to be honest... ;) Few of mine are...

'When The Bassline Drops' reaching the Top 10

Skepta's album success, also the likes of Kano and Giggs too

'Panda' breaking through to become huge

Sean Paul's comeback

The prevalence of dancehall

'One Dance' obviously

M.O. getting a chart hit

'You Want Me' progressing from fresher's anthem to chart hit!

Disturbed definitely, nothing like that in the top 40 for years.

Also In Ibiza's first week at #1 stood out to me as a surprise, especially in that week when I thought 7 Years was still miles ahead.

It was impressive but it didn't surprise me with SOTME being s catchy comeback on top of their biggest hit of their career in Black Magic, they really are at the peak of their chart career just now!

SOTME making #1 on less than a week's sales was a great moment too mostly because it kicked James Arthur off #1  never would've expected that.
One Dance finally being knocked off #1

and falling to #5 in the process! what a way to end a 15 week run.

Elvis' 'The Wonder Of You' is the highlight for me. His 13th No.1 Album and still in the Top 5 after nine weeks without entering the Top 100 Streaming Charts.

The only thing I can think of is Pink's brief return. This year has been mostly shit.

The albums chart has seemed more interesting.

Little Mix going to #1 with 'Shout Out To My Ex' and 'Glory Days'!

Drake hogging the #1 position for 15 weeks was ridiculous. I actually stopped listening to charts for months because of his dominance. -_-

I don't listen to the chart anymore because of that (well, that and the fact that I get back from high school at 6:20pm, instead of 4:40pm at the latest previously when I was in middle school, but I could still liste n to the 20 last minutes and I don't).
