I have a slight worry the multi format release may result in a large drop next week. That said, i would believe the album is on track to sell 10,000 plus this current week and i would assume one of the goals of this campaign is for them to achieve a Gold Status selling album which is now on lock.

I would hope the album remains top 8 when we see the up to date midweek chart information tomorrow.

Number 7 today so im sure they are safe to stay top 10 now. I really hope it doesnt have a huge fall next week. Overall though the comeback album has done well for them.Im still a bit surprised by how well the album has done generally.
Officially #8. They sold 11,136, bringing their total to 96,697!
Brill result, at the top end of my 8-10 prediction and good that they have enough clout to get a re-release of an album into the top 10, particularly considering Light Up The World went never went anywhere near with just the one release. Yass at being so close to gold status too :cheer:

Awesome for Steps, gives them another week in the top 10 too. Glad gold is a given now, just a shame they could sell a few hundred more to get it to Gold this week, would have been a double celebration for them.

I'm personally really impressed with them I didn't even see the album going top 10 nevermind battling for #1 and going Gold! When you think Zayn Malik hasn't gone gold and he had that massive #1 single while Steps only have a (superior) #37 hit off of it with none of the others charting...

Tears on the Dancefloor has dropped to number 29 in the first set of mid weeks released yesterday. I at this stage would settle for a top 30 position at the end of week.
'Tears on the Dancefloor' will be Gold certified this week! As of today, it has now sold 100,379. :cheer:

Disappointing that they are down to #58 in today’s mids - thought they would hold on a bit better than this, they need some promo but there is not much left for them to do tbh.

The album is falling fast since it returned to the chart in its deluxe form.

The tour should attract sales. That said, i did also believe they would hold on better than they have so far.

Id be hoping with the Steps tour we will see some level of album traction on the back of it. With the tour and also recent promotion i am little bit disappointed the Ultimate Collection has not made a return to the charts.
The album continues its sharp chart decline this week, down to number 65. It would be wonderful if the tour stabilizes the sales for the coming week. At the least, the album is officially certified Gold.
The album slides to number 87 in the midweek chart today. It appears this may be its last week in the top 100 unless sales start picking up.

I wouldn't be too concerned about how their album performs from here on out! A #2 peak, a return to the Top 10 with a re-release, and has gone Gold! Including the past three days of sales, its current total is 102,355.

They've done incredibly well with it, particularly when you consider their circumstances. Firstly, this was a brand new studio album from a 20 year old pop group, which was a risk. It was self-released (they're technically an indie act!). Only Scared of the Dark made a slight ripple, chart wise - so it's quite something to be able to shift 100k of an album in this day & age, without at least one major hit attached to it. Also, they've managed this sales total despite very little streaming support. A lot of modern artists' album totals are hugely boosted by streaming data.

I think it's safe to say that things have gone perfectly for them, and Steps themselves have said the reunion has completely exceeded their expectations in every respect! Any more sales for their album at this point is a bonus. Their initial thought to mark 20 years was to perhaps do a one-off gig at the Royal Albert Hall and leave it at that, but what has happened is a 22 date arena tour (which has gone down a storm with fans, and has achieved positive reviews!) and also a 17 date summer tour next year.

As a long-time fan I'm so pleased with how they've done! I never anticipated they'd do another studio album, and for me it's their best to date.

Jay, i am in full agreeance on everything you said in the post.

The album has more than exceeded expectations and they have managed to sell more albums then what are seen as more relevant acts such as Zayn and The Chainsmokers which is remarkable. I had just some hopes of the album selling a little stronger during the time of the tour and i naively thought the tour would slow the decline.

That said, the comeback has been a huge success and probably will result in (fingers crossed) us getting another new studio album from them. They have worked so hard to make this comeback a success and it has truly paid of for them which i am extremely happy about.

Holler!!! Preach!!! Jay jay jay!!!

Faye said they are open to recording a new album too they are just seeing this era through then they will discuss what comes next. I can’t see why they wouldn’t tbh it’s the best thing to happen to them careers wise in years.
