I'm tired of her signature sound at the moment because of all the followers but I will say there's something different about it, it is trying to sound euphoric so I guess I might like it more later but I'm not majorly sold right now.

The song is not euphoric as many people here have said, it's infectious and instant, I'd give Lorde that but it is, as the album title suggests, melodramatic.

I agree, any advantage of releasing Thursday was just a bonus but obvs the main focus would be her NZ fanbase.

I'm more excited over this than Perfect Illusion and Love HELP

 

I like it a lot but it's not hitting me yet as much as the likes of 'Royals' and 'Team' which are some of the best tracks in recent years for me. I do agree that it sounds a little disjointed in places and I think I just prefer her moodier choruses. Saying that, the ending especially is massively euphoric and just general yay at her being back finally, hopefully not long to go until the album :heart:

It loosely reminds me in parts of what 'Tears' by Clean Bandit was trying to achieve... but didn't. That never fully hit the mark for me but this meets it and goes fully far beyond it.
