How on earth is SOTME not even in the Top 5!!

After going a bit too hard with it at first, I went off it a bit for a short while, but it's now back in my affections. It bops for days and that's that.

Exactly my experience too! I'd probably rank it highest among their lead singles now.

 

Sad to see it beaten by 'DNA'.

'Secret Love Song' = Probably ranks about right here and definitely the girls best ballad by far, I just love percussion and dramatic strings, and along with the girls stunning vocals (especially Perrie & Jade) who just totally owns this song. Okay Jason Derulo's bit wasn't needed, it doesn't ruin the song, it just wasn't needed, but thankfully we have 'SLS PT 2' which fixes that problem. I remember first hearing this album and knew that 'SLS' would be an obvious single and really stood out for me and became yet another smash hit for them, although it deserved higher than it's #6 peak, but still sold bucket loads and is currently their 3rd best selling hit.

 

'Shout Out To My Ex' = Wow another shock on here, thought that this would at least finished top 5 and especially with such a strong average. Well anyway this is another great song from them and confirmed their dominance status, who doesn't love a break up anthem with such an amazing soaring chorus and such stellar production. What's also great that the girls really sell the sass in this song and became another well deserved #1 for them, and starting yet another fantastic era for them. This could probably outsell 'BM', the way the sales are looking at the moment, as it's still in the top 20 with 700k sold already.

 

 

'Love Me Like You' or 'Salute' may drop next.

SOTME being this low is certainly a mess. What a song! It just makes you feel great! And it helped me deal with my break-up, so perfect timing, girls

SOTME is really not that good, a highly irritating song.

'Love Me Like You' manages to fend off competition from 3 out of the 4 singles released since the last rate, with only 'Touch' finishing ahead of it, meaning it falls just one place out of the top 5, but is roughly as popular as it was then. Despite almost 50 people rating this time round, its average increases from 8.25 to 8.75.

 

'Love Me Like' You is one of my favourite Little Mix tracks, and is, along with 'Move' one of their singles that stands out for being a little 'different', (whilst staying in the commercial lane), something that people complain Little Mix don't do enough. And I commend them for putting this out, right after the very straightforward and structured smash 'Black Magic'. I know we've had our fair share of "almosts" in LM world, as mentioned in this Little Mix rate. Get Weird's #2 peak, 'Touch' spending it 3 weeks at #4 and never cracking the top 3, 'Hair's #11 and 'Secret Love Song's #6 due to the late video...I could go on, but let's remind ourselves of 'Love Me Like You's top 40 chart run... 21-30-32-32-28-19-13-13-18-19-22-22-20-11-23-36. Yes, long after giving up up on the top 10 dream, it peaked in its FOURTEENTH week, but at #11. Welp.

 

Loads of high scores here. And here's some tea, if it weren't for that one 0, not only would this song have managed the top 5, it would scraped itself into the top 3.

While it's my least favourite single from Get Weird, there's no way LMLY deserves a 0! I like the fact the girls took a risk and did something different

Yay I guessed right (this time), I honestly thought that I gave 'LMLY' a 10, well I wish I did now, but had to limit the amount of 10's on this rate, I think. Oh well anyway, thought that this was fantastic and brave choice to follow on such a smash hit as 'BM' and again deserved better than it's #11 peak, but I think that was done to the very mixed reactions it had at the time towards it, that's why it jumped up and down the top 40 for several weeks before landing just outside the top 10.

 

This is definitely my 2nd fave from 'Get Weird', after the lead single of course and looking back, I was glad they chose to do something totally different and quite risky as well, I've always had a soft spot for the 60's sounding girl group pop songs, and they're harmonies are just flawless on this and the video was just fantastic, and in all how can you not like this and am really glad that it's done so well on here, #6 which isn't too shabby at all and with such a fantastic average.

 

 

So it's 'DNA', 'Move', Salute', Black Magic' & 'Touch' left in the running, I reckon 'Salute' may drop next.

Touch really should have been put at 8th! I actually think secret Love song is my favourite Little Mix track, it feels much bigger than it actully was and could have been much bigger had they promoted it correctly!

'Salute' had a slow start in the charts, and not the most impressive chart run, but seems, these days just as well remembered as 'Wings' and 'Move'. I still hear this on the radio a lot, and they still perform it loads. It's not difficult to understand why though, it goes off in a live setting.

 

'Salute' had loads of 10s, and didn't really get any low scores, apart from John's 6. It suffered, however, from lack of 11s, of which it only received one! In hindsight, my own 7 feels a little low, but I still think #5 is a strong placing for the song and I wouldn't have wanted it any higher.

Salute is overrated. I hate how it it repeats itself so much in the beginning. Jesy's, Jade's and chorus with same lyrics? Mess.

Salute deserved better.

It took soooo long for Salute to grow on me, in fact it didn't really hit me properly until they performed it on BGT. :o One of my firm faves now. :wub:
