I imagine it's getting played a fair bit on radio and in the clubs which is helping it sell well. mdh as a sixth form student probably hasn't heard it 'irl' because it's not a very popular artist or a meme.
'You Don't Know Me' is an absolute banger and would be a fabulous #01!

Look, I personally love the song and play it regularly, don't get me wrong! Like I've been jamming to it ever since it's inital release. But what I'm saying is that a top ten single is usually really popular among my friends and peers but strangely this hasn't been. Probably just me.

Nope it's the same at my school for me! Haven't heard one thing said about this whereas I know loads of people loving Starley/JP etc!

Jax Jones is still growing AirPlay wise so I imagine in 3 months a lot more will know it!
I don't think it even has a video either... but yeah probably going to be hit heavily by streaming

#55 in the mids today - with the remix EP and almost certain 59p reduction along with the video this could be a sizable hit for Nathan, can see it appealing to the James Arthur/Olly fans bases.

The Jazz Jones track is one of the most requested tracks when I'm DJing, clearly popular and it's such a tuuune! Underwhelming my ass!
Eek, they should be pushing the prices down, not up. f***ing Brexit.

Hmm...I doubt i'll be buying any more iTunes downloads then, apart from stuff that's not on Spotify.

This will really help to kill off downloads faster, there's something about even the 99p price point that seems relatively fair but £1.25 for a download is excessive. Yes I used to spend £2.99 on CD singles but that was for the whole package - the song, remixes, b-sides, artwork, case and actually having a physical product to show for the money and the excitement of putting it on the stereo for the first time. I don't place the same value on a single track download at all and no doubt many people feel the same.

That said, I do understand why it's been done and I guess it was inevitable, I wonder if Spotify subscription prices will increase soon too, maybe to £12.99 or something?

I be more worried if they start adding Airplay next, if downloads keep on decreasing. I know it was bound to happen at some point by hiking the price up.
iTunes would be silly to increase the price of music downloads, people will be outraged and sales will drop by a lot. If Apple also increase their Apple Music subscription cost whilst Spotify remains £9.99, then that's more people migrating to Spotify..

Airplay will never be added unless the OCC want to ruin their credibility.

I don't get why people prefer Spotify to Apple Music when (as far as I'm aware) it's cheaper, has a larger catalogue and is far more user friendly.
Yeah I'd just pay the extra couple of quid for Apple Music tbh if they were to increase it, as I have an iPhone it's much easier to use as I can integrate my own files with it for example, and the app is always just there whereas Spotify would be another app to take up space  With student discount it's only £4.99 a month too, if it were to be like £6.99 a month with student discount I'd be fine with paying that, I'd be fine with paying full price too tbh. When I think of the amount of new stuff I listen to or stuff I discover, streaming is really worth it, so I can see why it's taking over.

I tried it and absolutely hated it. But that's because I was trying to integrate it with my old iTunes library and it buggered everything up/tried to replace all my files with new versions which removed specific remixes, deleted files, edited tags without my permission and sent everything to the cloud. It was an absolute nightmare.

Quite often I'd try to add songs to playlists using the app too and they just wouldn't appear, or it would be very glitchy and add them twice or something. I find Spotify far more reliable.

I still love iTunes for downloads and to manage my CD collection but I'm happy to keep my download/streaming services separate as they just don't link together well at all.
