If we are to be hopeful about the show, the long term plans for the show should start coming to the fore-front now. SOC has had enough time in the role and enough mapping time to start pushing the show to the vision he had in mind. I remain highly skeptical from the current state in the show but i live in hope that it cant get any worse. The results of the Soap Awards should be enough to put some thought into his mind as essentially the output of the show at present went home empty handed.

They need bigger storylines again, something they can really work with. Look at Emmerdale with Ashley's Alzheimer's, they rightfully swept the board because it was so perfectly done, in the right timescale and interwoven into other storylines really well. It's not that difficult to do something realistic without it being boring, stuff like that is still as realistic as boring storylines about bins and Denise having to sign on. It can be a bit depressing to cover death and illness but Emmerdale did it so well and intertwined it with happier moments as if to celebrate life when it's coming to an end. I mean christ I'd take a Kate Oates esque affair storyline over what's going on rn, let alone a fab issue driven one
Just watched last nights episode and it felt like a 90 minute episode instead of 30 minutes. Absolutely brutal. I think I'll give it until the end of the summer and if there's no sign of any change, I'll give up until a new producer takes over.

Emmerdale with Ashley's Alzheimer's, was done superbly. There were no big stunts, just excellent storytelling and i think EastEnders need to follow that style of pattern "interesting storytelling"

In the past EastEnders has done this amazingly well, but now, there is nothing to tell. When it was announced Ronnie and Roxy were been killed off, we were told it would have a major impact on the show moving forward. Their deaths were completely pointless and done nothing in the slightest to have long term benefits to the show. This is only 1 example of storylines been handled horrifically but the delivery of Lee's depression storyline was painfully awful, they got it completely completely wrong to the point of it been extremely frustrating to watch.

what the f*** does Lauren actually do? apart from that she never even does anything she just wanders around the building looking like she's about to vom.

Can everyone stop pretending Jack is Matthew's father please?

I can understand Lauren not wanting the baby but to use her job as an excuse is pretty dumb. I honestly don't see how pregnancy and motherhood would be in the way of her sitting at a desk pretending to know what the investors are investing in. Cannot stand that Josh either, he's so annoying.

I want Abi to go apple bobbing with Lauren's head again tbh.

Lmao, I had to turn off after Mick and Sharron turned up at the taxi, I was cringing so much
Gaaewd producers need to stp riding Jack's neanderthal D and accept he is not the father, has not adopted him, and he real father just turned up. The case would be over by now after five minutes in court and Matthew would be back with his ACTUAL FATHER.

The show currently has no regard for the finer details. In fact, it has no regard for the big things either, like storylines and drama.

I see we were treated to another ghastly inserted scene where characters discuss recent real life events. The joy.

omg Jeremy Corbyn has plans to binge watch what he missed in Eastenders now that the election is over.
