February 23, 20178 yr Big For Your Boots is actually a banger :o Yeah he's gonna be one of the defining names of the year I think. He won't be Adele or Ed level because I can't see grime being huge in every single country WW but at least over here he's gonna be huge all year and probably have one of the biggest selling albums of the year.
February 24, 20178 yr Spinning this in full in the morning, but WOW at that Tracklist. Safe to say the J Hus, Wretch & Raleigh Ritchie collabs will be🔥🔥🔥🔥
February 24, 20178 yr Cold and Cigarettes & Cush are both great! Also loving Big For Your Boots and really starting to think I need to check this album out despite hating his first few singles! Definitely the biggest surprise in a while!
February 24, 20178 yr Yaaassss at Stormzy sampling/covering my girl NAO's 'Intro (Like Velvet)' in 'Velvet'. Hope it sends more people over to the original, although this version is heavenly too. 'Bad Boys' is massive. 'Blinded By Your Grace, Pt. 1' is sooo unexpected, unassuming and gorgeous. Only half way through but I am so impressed.
February 24, 20178 yr I can't believe I hated him when 'Shut Up' came up. Every track is f***ing incredible. This is such a big surprise for me. 'Blinded By Your Grace, Part 2' might be my favourite so far. This record just has that perfect mix of old school vibey grime and then has such a contrast with some really properly subtle and gorgeous moments musically. This really is going to that album that makes grime cross over to the mainstream isn't it? I feel like it just feels so important for the genre.
February 24, 20178 yr Apparently Lily Allen does the vocals on the chorus for 'Cigarettes & Cush'. I knew Kehlani sounded too British
February 24, 20178 yr I like this on first listen but I think I'd been hyping it up so much going in that it was always going to be slightly disappointing. It does feel like it's going to be a massive grower though. 21 Gun Salute & Don't Cry For Me were the instant highlights for me. Edited February 24, 20178 yr by RobinJuanPersie
February 24, 20178 yr Apparently Lily Allen does the vocals on the chorus for 'Cigarettes & Cush'. I knew Kehlani sounded too British  Did someone say Lily Allen?! :o I'll have to listen to that track then
February 24, 20178 yr Just listened to it and it's 100% Lily Allen :kink: I guess Lily Allen wouldn't sound cool enough
February 24, 20178 yr Usually this sort of music doesn't even come up on my radar but I might give this album a listen as I'm clearly missing out on something. I hope at least I'll be able to appreciate the ideas behind some of the songs?
February 24, 20178 yr This is amazing. Cold, Cigarettes & Cush, Big For Your Boots, Shut Up, Mr Skeng and Bad Boys are all massive tens out of ten and the latter sounds like a huge hit. My favourite has to be Don't Cry For Me, though. Raleigh AS ALWAYS delivering it on vocals, just total perfection on a song. Overall it's a near flawless album. F****** incredible.
February 24, 20178 yr Author About to have my first listen - so hyped to hear the Kehlani collaboration  Also it's definitely Lily Allen, she tweeted about it: https://twitter.com/lilyallen/status/835065085013938176
February 24, 20178 yr Gave this album a listen due to the unlikeliest of posters claiming to like certain songs etc.. and I'm glad I did. I'm only on 'Blinded By Your Grace, Pt 2' so far and it's not really one I'll go back to in full much, but I'm impressed and surprised by how much I DO like it. I've got a handful of songs that I will DEFINITELY be going back to though! 'Blinded By Your Grace, Pt 2' is BY FAR the best thing on the album so far though. Absolutely gorgeous! This feels like the album Dizzee should be releasing if he really wanted to "go back to his roots" and is reminiscent of his 'Boy In Da Corner' era. Stormzy literally sounds identical in a lot of the album.
February 24, 20178 yr Author This is such a solid album from start to finish! Standouts are Cold, Blinded By Your Grace (1 and 2), Velvet, Cigarettes & Cush and Don't Cry For Me. Of course Big For Your Boots and Shut Up as well.
February 24, 20178 yr I must admit that I do prefer the more melodic tracks like Cigarettes & Cush and Don't Cry For Me the most out of all the tracks but I'm loving the more ferocious tracks too like Big Four Your Boots and Mr Skeng at the moment. Saying that, the whole album is top quality and I'm glad he seems to be the guy of the moment, very deserving :D
February 24, 20178 yr The album cover is already iconic, too. I get the feeling that's gonna be in the "Top 100 Best Album Covers" lists and stuff.
