September 7, 201212 yr I thought this thread needed to make a COMEBACK and so here be what's going on in Umiiruka: Umiiruka Emerges from Dark Days of Dictatorship Following growing public descent, "Dear Leader" K'Ronikka, dictator of the country for three years since she seized power in a bloody coup in 2009, resigned from her post several days ago. The resignation prompted huge public debate over how K'Ronikka would be dealt with, being wanted in several countries (most notably Daehun) for warcrimes, most significantly the murder of four million citizens of Uurnikook. However, it has come to light that in return for her relinquishing of control over the country, K'Ronikka asked for (and received) immunity for her crimes. The country's former leader will now lead a free life in Umiiruka, although it is unknown exactly where she will stay. Following the resignation, Umiiruka's newly democratic populace needed a leader. A hastily thrown together presidential election just finished, and the results are as follows: 1. Federica Pellegrini: 27.25% 2. Xavier Dolan: 25.375% 3. Camille Muffat: 24.125% 4. Coralie Balmy: 23.25% A narrow contest, unsurprisingly considering there was virtually no time for any campaign, but Federica Pellegrini of Region 6 prevailed. Federica, pictured here, was considered the favourite for the race from the start, and is thought to be a strong choice of president for her sensibility and calm demeanour. It is hoped she will bring some sense back to Umiiruka, replacing the blatant stupidity and extreme sexuality of K'Ronikka (pictured in the music video for her hit single 'Booty Wave' here). Federica has promised to undo the damage "that insane woman" did and Umiiruka is optimistic of a fresh start for the country and its international relations.

January 24, 201312 yr Ímmilagrati Áskorza release annual Immigration stats and law updates Ímmilagrati Áskorza has for the first time today released a list of all the nations on the Immigration Black List in addition to it's usual statistics. ÍÁ in association with the AFIA (Ashtonise Federal Intelligence Agency), the AFP (Ashton Federal Police), Dsénjå Áskorza (Ashton Customs) and local law enforcement performed 20,189 raids on businesses and 39,101 residential raids leading to the capture of 39,938 illegal immigrants and 481 persons arrested under suspicion of human trafficking. Ímmilagrati Áskorza and Governa Republique d'Áskorza have today announced that all inbound cargo ships are to be searched and that all cargo containers are to be subject to increased scrutiny. Of the nearly 40,000 illegal immigrants, 27 have been granted leave to remain in Ashton after it was discovered they were victims of a scam targeting migrants whose visa was due to expire but wished to remain in Ashton legally. A further 5,082 have been granted temporary leave to remain in the country after a backlog in visa processing was to blame for their visa's expiring before a new one could be granted. 19,019 remain in detention pending investigation into their immigration status. The remainder were deported. Immigration Black List. - Ramrynia - ChrIsland - Dr. Bombay's Tigerland - Hoganburg-Republic - Torchwood Aircraft and Vessels registered in the five above nations or are in service of the five above nations are prohibited from entering Ashtonise Airspace or Waters. Citizens from the nations are strictly prohibited from visiting Ashton and all those who were working or resident in Ashton at the time of the Black Listing were stripped of their visas and Ashtonise Nationality. 2,719 IBL raids took place this year with the discovery of 5,188 IBL nationals. 48 have been executed, 591 have been deported and the remainder are currently imprisoned awaiting deportation or execution. The Federal Republic of Ashton does not execute minors. In addition to this any families discovered on an IBL raid are automatically exempt from execution even if the youngest family member is no longer a minor.
