Officials working on behalf of BJSC X have announced today that Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth, Vulcania's entries for the contest, have in fact double booked themselves and thus will not be able to sing at the contest. They have instead given permission for local girl, Kerry Ellis to sing the song instead. In an interview earlier today, Ellis claims that she hopes to 'bring a rockier edge to the song' and insists that she will do the song justice for all the fans of Menzel's original.

 

In other news, a native Vulcanian yak left drivers fuming today after refusing to budge from the entrance of Ironway Tunnel. Motorists were left stranded as the yak, nicknamed by drivers as 'Pain in the arse' sat at the entrance for a total of six hours. One driver commented that the yak had caused him to miss the start of the new series of Pimp My Ride and claimed that he would be filing a lawsuit against the yak.

Eledanese prime minister finally revealed the official information that Eledan are currently under the economic crisis. 'There have been some bad times for Eledan last 2 months but we hope that with the help of our allies and friend countries we will go through it'. For 3 consecutive months until July Eledan have been one of the leading countries in the economic world. 'We are really glad Kopecka tries to help the nation at the moment and we hope the negotiations about reciprocal benefits will take place at some point'

Political Changes for Ashton?

 

After a recent uprising against current Prime Minister Jayener Hawthe, the President/Dictator Phil has revolutionised the Ashtonise political landscape in a bid to give Ashtonise citizens more say in the running of their country. Previously the President chose the PM who looked after the day to day dull stuff of the country but now a full parliament has been introduced.

 

The new parliament is to be housed within Ashton House (Tallest building in Morepeth Cove's Regina Governa d'Centric also known as RGC near the City Centre.)

The new extensions to the high rise building will house offices for the Members of Parliament who are to be elected by democratic means.

 

Each of Ashton's 9 States have been divided into constituencies and there are to be 928 seats in the parliament.

 

There are 4 main political parties at time of writing.

 

The Liberal Party of Ashton - Want full democracy and the land that Botanikka currently lies on. Least supported party of the 4

The Ashton National Party - Currently in power.

Political Party of Sanvoria - Main party of the west coast, strong political ties with the ANP

Elections are scheduled to take place on Friday.

 

Dictator Phil is to continue to veto every law, rejecting and amending those he does not like. He shall also continue to impose his own laws.

 

The country shall be adjusting it's official name from 'Ashton' on friday to formally take the name of 'Demicrata Republique d'Ashton'. It will continue to be known as Ashton for BJSC entries.

 

Ashton is not expected to change it's infamous immigration laws which has seen 0 illegal immigrants within the country for the past 6years.
